Left Behind - The Movie (DVD, 2004, Special Edition)

+Based on the book series it starts out with everyone living their lives normal and complicated . But then suddenly without warning people disappear. All children are gone , and people from all walks of life accross the planet have just simply gone. The choas that comes from the rapture really makes you think about how it will actually happen. Rayford Steel is a pilot and then when people start to go missing panic occurs on his plane. Other pilots who were Christians disappeared which leads to down planes and loss of life. Chloe Steel is Ray's daughter and is driving to college and the freeways a mess. And eventually gets back to her house to find her Dad their but her little brother and her Mother (Ray's wife) are raptured. After the rapture comes the rise of the antichrist who is a very charasmatic man and powerful man. After the rapture emotions run high and decsions are made. This movie is good for all ages . There's no lanuage, but their is some violence. This movie really makes you think alot and if you read the book like I have then you'll enjoy watching the movie. Even if you haven't read the books I'd still recommend it.

First, I want to note that I have never read any of the books in this series. My wife and I are new Christians, and we received this as a gift from a loving family member.

We sat on this movie for a few months.. mostly because I found it difficult to picture Kirk Cameron as anything but a snotty b-grade sitcom star. Boy were we wrong.

This movie is about the rapture and those that are "left behind". The production quality is slightly above a B Movie, but the script and actors are so good that they were able to pull off a great film... even with what I'm sure was a very small budget.

I don't want to give away too much about the movie.. I hate reading spoilers and giving them is just as bad. This movie is thought provoking and I would suspect that the majority of non-Christians will find the movie worth the watch. I am told by those that have read the book, that it is a bit of a let down, but that could be said about nearly all movies based upon books.

We liked this movie so much that we purchased the other two movies in the series. The production quality gets much better in the later movies.

Bottom Line: Christian or not, this is a good movie worth the time and money.

Bought this movie in effort to try and build up my movies that glorify God since we only have like 3. This was a pretty good movie. While I don't believe that the makers of this film really sought to just glorify God, it was at least safe entertainment that doesn't blaspheme Him and mix in a few Christian themes like the trash put out by Tyler Perry. I thought Kirk Cameron was great as well as a few other actors. I pray more movies that truly have God's spirit in them will be made in the future.

I would not allow young children to watch this film. It might be a little scary. It is talking about the end of time and when Jesus takes Christians to Heaven and some people are LEFT BEHIND. It makes you think about your life and if you would go to Heaven if this happened today. It is very well written and does follow the story line of the book in a summarized version. It is ment to be watched as a Bible based movie and to encourage discussion of your life, Heaven, Hell and the Rapture.

Please watch this film with an open heart and mind. It is very touching and can lead you to Jesus, right where we all need to be.
