Product Information
Embark on a quest to find the Triforce, slay Ganon and save Princess Zelda in the timeless adventure game from Shigeru Miyamoto that invented the genre. The game's release heralded the end of the days when console games were all about linear quests and never-ending twitch gameplay with small level variations or increasing speed settings.


This is the first version of the game, released for the Famicom Disk System in Japan due to limits in cartridges at the time (and also Nintendo's push for its add-on technology). The disk feature allowed the game to be saved without the use of passwords, thus giving players the ability to freely explore and collect throughout a tremendous adventure quest. Advances in technology allowed Nintendo to bring the game to the US on cart (with the save system intact, for the first time).

I bought this game so I could have a factory sealed copy of the very first zelda game. It looks excellent on my shelf! I do have another copy of the game that I can play though. It is an excellent RPG. It is what started the entire Legend of Zelda franchise. There are 10 difficult dungeons in this game, and a lot of land with secrets to explore. Once you finish the game, you can play a harder version of the entire game. You will be enjoying this game for hours.

If you're looking for the original 1986 experience of The Legend of Zelda, this is it. This is where it all started 25 years ago. If you own a Famicom Disk System this is a must have title for it. The game is still fun to pick up and play through all these years later! Link's First adventure through Hyrule will keep you coming back again and again for more.
