Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 (8547)

cant say enough good things about this. Kids can learn math as degrees, rotations, conversions. Also allows kids to apply their math skills. They see a reason for all those hours spent on the drudgery of math problems they encounter at school. Kids encounter mechanical devices such as linkages, gears, etc.., something they wouldnt see till later in life. This also involves quite a bit of spatial reasoning to tinker your creation. Also teaches that the computer is a tool not just entertainment. Teaches kids that failure is okay but satisfaction is achieved when they problem solve to improve their design. You can see the light bulb go on when they start to brainstorm. After a long day at school many kids come in with such enthusiasm. They don't realize they are learning. This is a great stepping stone for many to do more advanced programming and robot design. I could go on and on. But beware Parents must involve themselves. This is not a toy that young kids can just play by themselves. I got my daughter so involved by bringing it to her friends in an after school program. I now have so many kids wanting to join the group. Its awesome.

Very innovative and creative toys for kids. Help them to learn how to solve problems and develop team works.

can combine lego brick with the control by function.
you can imegination and build it.

I think that this is a great way to get started if you are interested in robots. It gets your mind thinking on how you are going to plan your robot. And also the programming get your brain working too. But overall it is a really good product and i would recommend it to a lot of people.
