Was that not cute! LOL

That is right! The secret is the DROP IN/DROP OUT CO-OP mode. This way if you are tired from work you can still spend a few minutes with the punk-punks and have a good time. Also if you get addicted to the game and get stuck at a point in the game. Help and more family bonding are a just a yell away!

A worthy sequel to the original guilty pleasure.

Created: 08/04/08
In a time of galactic war and civil unrest, it's great to know we can make it cute, and have loads of fun with it.

Lego Star Wars comes back as one of the most joyously giddy Star Wars games to ever grace us. It's more challenging; It's bigger; It still appeals to a wide audience and reminds us that you don't have to take gaming too seriously to have loads of fun.

What's new?
There's new playable characters, and even the gun totting figures can build Lego creations. You are no longer dependent on wielders of the force to take care of this task for you.
Vehicle missions now come in free flight form. In the original Lego SW the missions that had you in a ship of any kind put you almost on rails. You could move left and right, but the path and speed was all preset. In this installment, you can fly around to your hearts content.
A create-a-character feature has been introduced, where you can build your own playable Lego action figure to bring into free-play mode with you.
Modes of game-play; There's more! You have your standard story-mode, and free-play mode, but then have a bunch of additional modes including bounty hunter missions, missions getting you to accumulate a million Lego studs before time runs out, and even a few area's that put your Star Wars Heroes into classic Lego environments.
The levels are bigger! Although the story-mode still isn't warranting "most game-play in number of hours" awards, it will take a little longer to play through then the previous games, and additional goals you can play for afterwards keep the action going.

What's the same?
It's still fun! Lots of fun, for all ages!
The mini-kits are still here, so you can collect your favourite vehicles from the movies.
Two-Player co-op is present again, and makes the game even more fun!
The basic game-play. There's lots of little additions to the game, but at the core it's the same formula we've seen before. Just set to a different backdrop.

A definite pick-up for your PS2 collection.

Just as good as Lego Star Wars ... No! Better!

Created: 26/02/07
I'm including my Star Wars (episode 1-3) review here, because so many of the same elements apply. They made 2 even better by not sticking to the same mold:

"This is a fun, lighthearted almost tongue-in-cheek take on the StarWars Trilogies. If you enjoy the Lego movies at Lego.com, you will get a kick out of the humor in this game. The fact that the characters are Lego figures instead of being human emulations really tones down the violence (your kids probably do worse with their own legos or action figures!).

This game had easy game control (easy enough for both my six year old and my non-gamer first-time use of the controller), but combined it well with good challenges (enough to satisfy the 9 year old family gamer - although, perhaps, a teenager might expect full use of the controller).

The very, very best part of this game is that it is a legitimate two player game with drop-in/drop-out capabilities. This is by far the best two player game that I have seen - not a split screen, not a turn taking, nor network, but legitimately two player!!!

We've had this game for months and still have puzzles to solve even though the kids completed all levels. [BTW we also have Lego Star Wars 2 - the Original Trilogy and this review applies to that game as well - there are some differences in the actually game play that really make them two different games, not just two different stories - and they are both good - the kids would play for as long as we would let them].

Oh, and it doesn't make me motion sick. "

Fun Doesn't Begin to Describe It!

Created: 04/12/06
This game is fantastic! The basic game follows the story line of Episodes IV-VI very closely, but puts you right in the action. Once you've gone through and beaten a level (or the whole game), you can go back through with the ability to switch characters at will, unlocking even more hidden areas. Imagine Jedi Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader teamed up to go through the Tatooine levels, finding adventure galore!

Be careful, though. This game is highly addictive. It's a good thing there's plenty of scenarios to explore to fuel your new-found addiction. Don't hesitate to pick up this game at a great price!

Lego Star Wars - great game for kids!

Created: 05/12/07
Lego Star Wars - Original Trilogy - is a major staple in our house. My 4 children all love this game, which considering the age range (4-10) speaks volumes. The play is interesting and challenging enough for my eldest son (the family gamer), but you can accomplish enough with the basic moves and extras to keep the youngest happy as well.

Pros: Plenty of simple moves for little fingers. Custom characters made of various parts (think Princess Leia gold bikini, but Darth Vadar head) keep the kids giggling througout. Violence is minimal - characters don't bleed or die, they pop apart and can be reassembled.

Cons: Unless you are an adult gamer, not many. Kids can play this for hours on end, but more mature gamers (teen +) will get bored with the repetition after a while. If you're too old for Legos, you're probably too old for this game.
