Must Have Reference Guide for Lego Star Wars Collectors

Created: 03/05/10
Lego Star Wars is an amazing book. It chronicles Lego's offering of Star Wars themed Lego sets from the first set to the present. Until I read this book I would not have thought that lego created so many different Lego sets for each of the six Star Wars movie and the cartoon network shows.

The book is divided into different characters and themes. Until I read this book I was unaware that say in the early lego sets the heads were yellow and then in later lego sets the heads were changed to flesh colored. A serious collector would now know that they needed to collect the yellow head Han Solo for instance and then the flesh colored head Han.

This book also shows the reader the inner workings of Lego and how Lego designers create the different Lego sets. Lego has had designers dedicated solely to Star Wars themed Lego sets for over 10 years.

This book is also a help in explaining the Star Wars world. I learned that the blaster that is often provided with the different Lego figures is an SE-14 Blaster. I am a big Star Wars fan but I still am learning the names of characters and how they fit into the story. I learned from Lego that the name of one of the Y-Wing pilots is Dutch Vander for instance. Lego has done an excellent job of recreating the Star Wars feel in their Lego sets.

This book is laviously illustrated and is worth the price just for the pictures.

This book also comes with an exclusive Lego mini figure Luke Skywalker Ceremonial.

I highly recommend this book for any Lego Star Wars fan.

Lego Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary Review

Created: 08/01/10
What a fantastic book, it covers the entire span of the first decade of Star Wars LEGO, and doesn't miss a single detail. Highlights include a visual timeline of all the boxed sets, double-page spreads of some of the larger sets like the Sandcrawler, a well-researched behind-the-scenes article that drops you right into the heart of the SW LEGO creation process, and of course la pièce de résistance: Celebration Luke, an actual promotional minifig that comes with the book. The photographs are exquisite, the information and trivia top-notch, this book is a must-have for the beginner collector and avid die-hard SW LEGO-maniac alike. The only downside I can think of about this product is that I will have to wait another decade to get the sequel. But if it's half of what this book is, then it will be well-worth the wait!

A must have for all star wars legos collectors.nice colorful bright and glossy pages and is a hard cover book built to last. contains all star wars sets that were made year by year. best of all comes with (LUKE)lego figure sure to be a collectors item in the future if you can resist breaking him free from the front cover. this book is already sold out or is on back order at a lot of book shops or retail stores.so on a scale one to ten i would give it a 10 and highly recommend getting one truly is the best that Ive seen.

An essential for Lego Star Wars addicts!

Created: 02/05/10
My 10 year old is completely addicted to Legos and mostly the Star Wars line. This book feeds his addict's soul. The quality of the book is exceptional and the photos are clear and crisp and the construction will hold up to the hours and hours of pouring over the book that he and his many friends have and will continue to subject it to. Oh and the bonus minifig of the coveted "Luke" was just perfect. We tried to order it from a local bookseller and their source said it was backordered to the tune of 6000 copies!
