Album Notes
The Goo Goo Dolls: Robby Takac (bass guitar); Johnny Rzeznik, Mike Malinin.Personnel: Johnny Rzeznik (vocals, guitar); Robby Takac (vocals); Joel Shearer, Tim Pierce, Greg Suran (guitar); Paul Gordon, Zac Rae, Jason Freese (keyboards); Mike Malinin (drums, percussion); Brian Kilgore (percussion).Additional personnel: Joel Shearer, Paul Gordon, Tim Pierce, Zac Rae, Greg Suran , Brian Kilgore.Audio Mixer: Jack Joseph Puig.Photographers: Melanie Nissen; Josh Rothstein. The Goo Goo Dolls' transformation from thrashy alternative rockers to polished mainstream pop-rock stars was complete by the early 1990s, so it's no surprise that 2006's LET LOVE IN continues the sound that brought the band their greatest commercial success. In fact, LET LOVE IN is the group's cleanest and slickest effort, packed front to back with melodic, mid-tempo, and ballad-oriented MOR rock that borders at times on adult contemporary pop. Thanks in large part to the production of Glen Ballard (who has produced Alanis Morissette and the Dave Matthews Band) there are few of the Goo Goo Dolls' original edges left. Yet this shouldn't bother fans who came to love the band after albums like A BOY NAMED GOO. The pleasant, well-crafted music here should please fans of any style of mainstream rock that's not too hard on the ears.

Editorial Reviews
3 stars out of 5 -- Tempering their Bon Jovi-style bombast with chiming, U2-inspired atmospherics, this is music precision-built for vast stadiums.
Q

3 stars out of 5 -- [The album] outfits its trademark mix of stylized arena-rock guitars and huge romantic choruses with subtle atmospherics and a bright pop sheen.

Seeing a several year absence from studio Disc, The new Goo Goo Dolls " Let Love In" is an awesome effort. The title track will get in your head and you will catch yourself humming it all day! And the cover of Supertramps " Give a little bit" is truly Unique. Overall the Disc is a Great effort from one of Rock's finest bands! 4 Stars

NOT THE TYPICAL GOO.......SO _LET LOVE IN!!!!!!!!1

Not the typical Goo and thank goodness for that! So many bands these days all sound the same and you keep wishing they would come out with something providing evidence of growth. This cd does just that. The Goo Goo Dolls have been around for so long and with every new album there is evidence of growth as artists. I love that this cd is one more reason they can't be placed in one category or genre ex: alternative, punk, soft rock...they just are what they are and how refreshing! Two thumbs up! Favorite tunes on this cd would be "Stay With You" and "Listen".

Unique from their other albums...

You will like this album depending on what type of a Goo Goo Dolls fan you are. If you loved their ballads, like "Iris" and "Here is Gone" then you will love this album, but if you were an early fan of them with their heavier stuff, you will hate this album.
Personally, I like some variance. "Gutterflower", "Dizzy", and "A Boy Named Goo" had both ballads and the more rock-feel stuff, which I liked. This one is all ballads.
So I don't think it's their best, but it is worth the buy!!

Another Great Album By The Goo Goo Dolls!

Created: 02/02/09
This album is a lot more mellower then the previous Goo Goo Dolls releases. This album consists of the hits Better Days, and Give A Little Bit. This album is great for anyone who loves alternative rock or the Goo Goo Dolls.
