    Album Notes
Earshot: Wil Martin (vocals, guitar); Mike Callahan, Scott Kohler (guitar); Dieter Hartmann (drums).Additional personnel: Guy Courtier (bass).Recorded at Hensen Recording Studio, Hollywood, California.Personnel: Will Martin (vocals, guitar); Mike Callahan, Scott Kohler (guitar); Guy Couturier (bass guitar); Dieter Hartmann (drums).Audio Mixer: Andy Wallace.Recording information: Hensen Recording Studio, Hollywood, CA.Sure, the four heavy rockers who make up Earshot have obviously listened to their fair share of Tool. What 21st century hard rock band worth its Marshall amplifiers doesn't wear its influences proudly, whether its hip MC 5 updaters like the Hives and White Stripes, or these young lads? Though earshot utilizes Tool-like crunching, constricted riffs and Will Martin's measured-but-passionate vocal style bears more than a passing similarity to Maynard James Keenan, Earshot leans more toward an accessible, radio-ready nu-metal style than the quirky prog-metal eccentricities of the older band. And though the tempo on LETTING GO occasionally slows to a bluesy stomp, one has to admire the aesthetic integrity implicit in the band's refusal to throw a token ballad a la Staind. Relentlessness is sometimes its own reward; especially in heavy rock.

    Excellent Band and CD

    Created: 05/11/08
This is Earshot's 1st CD (released 2002) and it is fantastic! I can listen to the whole CD, great for long drives. If you like Tool, Trapt, Breaking Benjamin, or Chevelle you should like this disc. Best tracks are: Headstrong, Get Away, Not Afraid, and Ordinary Girl. This is a very original CD and band, not your typical hard rock CD. Their other 2 CDs (Two and The Silver Lining) are also just as good. If I had to pick, I would take this at #1, Two at #2, and The Silver Lining at #3. Definitely pick this one up!

    Earshot!!

Earshot is one of the best bands out there. Wil is so unique and amazing and great live. My favorite song on the cd is Ordinary Girl, if only someone could get him to sing it in concert though. ;] I've been a fan for years and recently realized I really needed to buy the cd because I couldn't borrow it anymore.

    Earshot - and they are!

I guess it all boils down to taste. I heard a couple of tracks and same a copy going for a very reasonable price and went for it. I'm really pleased to say that this album is really excellent - I'd heard that the lead singer was like the guy in Tool, but I don't think he's that similar and I think they are a better band. Think I've going to look for the other album Two.

I always liked Earshot and decided to hunt this one down. Half.com makes that type of painstaking task rather easy, but was it worth it? Eh. Earshot's best years are probably behind them, but fortunately, I'm a keeper of memories. If you like anything about Earshot, you might like this one.
