EnV TOUCH vs. EnV 3 COMPARISON:
In general I really like LG phones. However, I originally purchased the enV Touch and a few months later decided to “downgrade” to the EnV 3.
TOUCH SCREEN: The touch screen on the enV Touch, quite honestly, stinks. It doesn’t feel natural to use at all. It is slow to respond and inaccurate. (if you’ve ever used or owned an Apple product with a touch screen then you know how a touch screen should feel).
SPEAKERS: The enV 3 speakers seem very strong and loud, where-as the enV Touch speakers are weak, and even at its highest volume setting, it’s difficult to hear most of the ringtones.
QWERTY KEYBOARD: The ‘Touch’ has a large keyboard, with large and well-spaced buttons. I thought this would be a good feature, but ironically, even with my larger, hands I noticed that the slightly smaller enV 3 keyboard is easier to use and I can type faster with it as opposed to that of the enV Touch.
FRONT DIAL KEYS: I very much like the large number pad on the outside of the EnV 3. The virtual dialing keypad on the touch would not have been a bad thing if the responsiveness of the touch screen was actually accurate.
VOICE QUALITY DURING A CALL: The Env 3 wins again on this point. Voices on the EnV Touch seem flat and muffled compared to the EnV 3. The EnV 3 has a fuller and richer sound quality on all its speakers.
So far the only negative thing I have to say about the EnV 3 is that the front screen is quite small and almost pointless. But, with all of its other clear advantages over the ‘Touch’, I’m still much happier with my EnV 3.

What you need to know about buying that next phone that I learned....
1) Find out how old the phone is? If it is over 6 months old then that phone will need to have all recent software updates added to the phone.
Verizon adds new software to their phone constantly..
In my case the phone was advertised as mint condition and for the most part cosmetically the phone was in mint condition.. It's what happened to the phone and what I learned about Verizon and software updates which occur with any phone that shocked me... After about 10 days of use the phone started powering on and off every 10 seconds or so. I called Verizon and they told me at first the phone was no good and had run some tests... That was not the case as I found out but I'll get into that in just a minute... So, after Verizon told me that, I called ebay and explained to them what had happened and was advised to open up a case against the seller because I was beyond the warranty date she advertised by 2 days... I then contacted the seller to make sure she would take the phone back and she accepted. I then had to get all the info. off the phone, pics ect... I then called Verizon again to disconnect the phone before sending it back to the seller and this is when things got interesting because when the rep. disconnected the phone it started working normal again.. The Verizon Rep. I got this time did a research on the phone and found out the phone was 1 1/2 years old since it had been mfg... He also told me that since this phone had been mfg..it had 6 new software updates and this may be the reason the phone is powering off and on.. It needs the new software updates. He then reconnected the phone and tried to do it over the phone manually but could not. The phone declined software updates. I was then advised to take it to one of the stores that could do this. Well, now comes the next problem.. I get to the store and before the desk rep. connects the updated it to the phone she advises me that because the phone is 6 software updates behind it may cause the memory circuits to overload and burn out the phone.. I'm like are your kidding me.. So now it's a catch 22.. Your dammed if you do and dammed if you don't.. I chose not to get the updates and take a risk of damaging the phones memory circuits.
The phone was working fine again so why fix it.
Think buying a used phone is easy.. THINK AGAIN is what I learned.
WOW.. WHO KNEW ..
2)Make sure it has all the most recent updates so this won't happen to you.
3)Make sure you get it in writing as part of your agreement when you buy the phone.
4)Even if your buying a new phone right from Verizon or whoever make sure it has all these things done and it is not more than three months old.. If it's new from the mfg., tell them you want a new phone with all the newest and latest memory circuit boards in it and updates of coarse.. Ask for mfg. dates of the phone and when that phone had it's last software update.
5)All phones have the codes for age of the phone and a way to manually update the phone. Make sure you stay on top of updates to your phone once you get it..
6)Most important... When you buy a new phone from Verizon or any mfg. make sure you take the phone into the store the last week of 1yr. warranty and have them put it on the machine to get all the latest software updates. If it causes any damage to your phone, they are responsible not you. Case closed....

LG enV3 VX9200
I have had this phone for over a year now and I would recommend it to anyone. There are a few problems I have had with the phone, but they haven't caused any hard feelings. Sometimes the phone will turn off on its own. This happened more frequently when I first received the phone, but after updating the software version, this issue arose roughly once a month. I like the phone compared to other phones because of its size. A lot of the phones on the market today are thin, but yet bulky. The dimensions are just to big for my comfort. This phone is small and easily slips into any pocket. The reception I receive on this phone has been better compared to other phones I have used. It is user friendly and light weight. Anyone that wants a phone that can handle some abuse and keep on ticking, this is the one. I ran my first one over with my SUV and the only thing that broke was the front lcd part. The bottom half which contained all of my data was still perfectly intact. Can't beat a phone that shows you that much love....

I bought the LG EnV3 because my daughter has one and loves it. After I got mine I could see why. It has voice dial - if you like that kind of thing. I don't use it but I DO use the querty keyboard on the inside - it's great for texting. The software is intuitive. There is always a label on-screen that tells you what button to push to accomplish your task. You can save all sorts of information in the contacts list, including a mailing address! The list of "tools" is extensive, including a notepad and a calendar and an awesome alarm clock that allows up to ten different alarms that can be set for daily, weekdays, or weekends, and they are saved until you delete or edit them. This phone allows the user a lot of choices. The camera takes wonderful photos with good resolution. When printed at a drugstore or Walmart the pictures rival those from my old Kodak! If I were going to complain about one thing, though it would be that you MUST open the telephone up to access some of the facilities. You cannot edit a the contact list without opening it up, for instance, or set an alarm, or use the calendar. But that is just one small drawback among so many positive traits. The battery life is great - I charge about once a week but if you talk on your phone a lot you might have to charge more often, of course. And if you are getting "no service" of course that drains the battery pretty quickly, so keep an eye on that. But all in all, I do not intend to replace this phone with a new one at the end of my contract (New every Two, from Verizon) but instead will go to eBay and just HOPE someone has an LG EnV3 they want to sell - although I don't know WHY anyone would want to sell it once they've used it!

Good texting phone with some bugs
My previous phone was a Blackberry 8330 from Verizon. It was mainly for personal use and the mandatory extra cost of the data plan was not worth it for me. So I purchased the env3 and got rid of the data plan.
It's a good little qwerty texting phone, but it has some qwirks.
These are three that stand out for me:
First, there's no way to enable speakerphone when the phone is closed. The speakerphone can only be enabled if you open the phone. I'll have to go back to using my bluetooth headset.
Second, when I start a new text message with the phone open, it is always in "abc" mode instead of "Abc". This means that whenever I start typing, the first word is not automatically capitalized. Not a biggie, but still an annoyance.
Third, the ringer on this phone is LOUD even on the lowest setting. It sounds like the medium to medium-high volume on other phones. I think this is a bug. I usually keep mine on vibrate when I'm at home because the loud volume is startling.
Other than those three things, it's a good phone. Also, one thing I had to get used to was texting on a wider keypad. I found it easier to text quickly on my blackberry because it was narrower and the keys were smaller.
