A Life That Matters

I thought that Terri's family wrote a truthful and insightful account of this tragic story of legal homicide. I was very familiar with the facts, since I followed the case almost from the start, reviewing court records, obtaining copies of sworn affidavits of nurses attending Terri at the nursing home (one of whom quoted Michael as asking, "Is that b***ch dead yet?", nurses who would have had no reason to lie), going to court hearings at which I witnessed Judge George Greer ruling against Terri's family in every instance, meeting Terri's family, whom I grew to love, and the many people from all walks of life who were pulling for Terri.
I admire the Schindlers; they came across as truthful but not bitter. They
gave an easy-to-read, truthful account, with supporting evidence, of what had to have been a traumatic nightmare for them. I have already bought my copy, but would like to provide copies to everyone I know. The news media did not really report the facts of this case and not many people really knew what was happening.
This was a heart-rendering case of something I did not think could happen in America. I hope that this story is a warning to what could happen again if we are not aware. Remember, the Holocaust in Germany started with killing off the disabled!
And, I feel, too many of us become complacent when it is something that doesn't affect us personally! Terri is gone, but I view this as a "Wake-up-Call".

A LIFE THAT MATTERS

I bought this book because of my profound interest in this case, yet felt the book left out several issues that bothered me most.I was extremely interested in Terri but felt she was somehow left behind in all the shuffle.I felt for her family but it was she that I mostly wanted to read about.Maybe one of the other books about her could clear up my hundreds of questions..there are disturbing issues concerning our government laws and actions in this book, not to mention the unfeeling, unconcerned lawyers, and many many other people involved in this case..they did not go deep enough or fight hard enough or for that matter contact the right people..their lawyers were none the wiser which was a powerful dissppointment..I do understand the drain on her family but this book did not focus as much personally on Terri that I thought it would..but I plan to read all of the others that were written except one..the one written by Michael her ex.why? It would be a waste of time.Read this book to understand a family's sorrow because they could not stop a government from killing their innocent daughter and did it legally..What will the future hold for us now??

Unnecessary Death

This book brings out the true heart ache of Terri's family. The fight, the pain etc. This was totally unnecessary for there ever to be a fight for Terri's life. What's wrong with the legal system? The Judge and the SOB of a husband were allowed to commit murder.
