I bought this router because of the feedback that I read about it. We tried a D Link router, and another newer type Cisco router, and my computer would link up with no problems, but my wife's H/P would not link w/o an adapter. We purchased this router, and I had both computers linked up in about an hour w/o the use of an adapter. This is truely the best router that we have used. It does not take any special knowledge to set it up. The CD that is provided leads you step by step how to introduce it to your modem, and your computer without any hassels.

Excellent choice for 3rd party firmware

Created: 05/04/10
This is a networking classic! Proven and stable technology, and plug and forget, as long as you are not planning to move to 802.11n (which most likely is not worthed for 99% of everyday users). Flash it with DD-WRT and you'll get yourself a wireless bridge/gaming adapter, repeater, etc. I have a couple of these (or WRT54Gv4 which is the same thing) running as the main router, wirelss bridges, and repeaters and have great wireless coverage throughout a 4000 sq.ft double-story building without need to drill or install a line. Thanks to these little devices, I have all my pc/laptops, satelite receivers, DVD-players, HDTVs, and basically anything with an ethernet port hooked up to the netweork.

Linksys Router Repeater

Created: 10/12/09
This is an excellent product with the latest Linux firmware DD-WRT 2.4 firmware. This allows the router to be intelligent to it's surroundings and is able to pick the best unsecured WiFi network for internet browsing. One connection with access to many - Awesome!

Fantastic Router :)

Created: 05/12/08
This Router was totally simple to install and get working perfectly.
My old wireless router (Not a Linksys) gave me fits and refused to let me connect either my old or new laptop to the network.
The WRT54GL picks up a signal from rooms far away from it. It is one that has some firmware for it (not from the manufacturer) but I'm very happy with the way it works from out of the box.
I highly recommend it :)

WRT54GL is a professional-grade wireless router for a consumer-grade price.

The WRT54GL router is a solid workhorse. It has plenty of horsepower to deal with the fastest broadband connections (> 20Mbps). And, the best part is that you can install Linux-based DD-WRT firmware for more features and increased robustness.
