Lyon Gaultier deserts the French Foreign Legion in North Africa when he learns that his brother in Los Angeles has been seriously injured. Fleeing from the Legion's Security Forces, Lyon turns to the illegal, bare-knuckle underground fighting circuit to raise the money he needs to help his brother's family.

He arrived in New York, but needed LA
So he fought in a street fight, and boy did it pay.
He fought his way to LA, got there in one piece,
Now he fights to care for his sister-in-law and his niece.
His next fight is against Attila the beast,
Who toys with his opponents, just to say the least.
Will Van Damme manage to save his family this time?
Or get dragged back to Africa? Now this is a bind.

Lionheart
Another Van Damme on the run story, with another underground fight league, and Family Revenge. This film has everything a JCVD film should, the only thing it's lacking is a significant Bad Guy. He's bad, but not that bad.
Lionheart does offer some great fight scenes, but falls short in story (I know, I'm complaining about story in a Van Damme film), but the story is a little annoying.
Final Verdict:
3/5
Rent or Buy?: Rent. Nuff Said.
