Little House on the Prairie - Season 3 (DVD, 2003, 6-Disc Set)

This is a great season of "Little House" that meets with many of the adventures and tragedies of the Ingalls family!! It includes the "Race" and "Bunny" which describes the story of Laura and Bunny and the adventures and mishaps they encountered. "Gold Country" finds the Ingalls and Edwards moving from Walnut Grove in an attempt to find Gold and provide for their families. It also includes the classic episodes "Journey in Spring" and "To Live with Fear!!" A must have season in your collection of "Little House on the Prairie!!"

I love this television series. It is a wholesome family entertainment my whole family can watch. My children love it as much as I did when I was little girl. I bought Little House on the Prairie - Season 3 because I know my children can watch this without fear of bad influences.

Much to my surprise season #3 produced a change in theme to one of fighting and increased tension. Most episodes are built around someone getting injured or even killed. Few episodes retain that warm & fuzzy feeling that comes from folks loving up on each other. One exception is the episode about a run away 11 year black boy who finds his way the the home of the Ingalls where he has the opportunity to pursue his dream which is to attend school. A real tear jerker without any violence. Well written and the young actor is quite engaging. Even the baby of the family, Carrie, goes through trauma after she falls into an old mine shaft and needs rescuing. Charles is beaten badly in one show while managing to shoot himself with his own rifle in another. His mother dies in another. Mary needs surgery after an injury while even the Reverend Alden gets physical with a town bully during a Sunday morning service! Laura has graphic nightmares after seeing seeing what looks like a murder. Not a fun season and in my opinion far too violent for younger children so how can it qualify as a family program. Far too many examples to go into here. We will stick with the Waltons thank you. I hope these comments are helpful to those of you with children. I bought this for my Grandmother. She loves the show. It has six DVD, with four shows on each disk. The best part....NO COMMERCIALS! Plus being that it is "Little House on the Prairie" it is great quality family entertainment. When you watch it, you come to find how just how far prime time TV has sunk in 20 years.

The world has had no other family show like little house on the prairie. The main focus of life is that God comes first in all and for the true in faith know what I am talking about. In these shows it really brings out the meaning of our past and how today has lost meaning of life and the wealth of life. These shows show what is not anymore.
