Media Molecule delivers an instant classic.

Although Little Big Planet could be described as a platforming game, its dedication to creativity in every area takes it far beyond the confines of the genre. Everything from your character to the environment is geared towards user creation and adaptation, via stickers and costumes right up to a full-blown level creator. Each level of the story mode is an unforgettable trip through the wild imagination of the designers, and it would be difficult to find a game that's as much fun to play with friends co-operatively. It's a little disheartening that the Story mode is over so quickly, and although there's some longevity to be had from finding all the hidden extras, you can still see everything the story has to offer in six hours. Then there's the level creator--an astoundingly powerful toolset that theoretically allows you to recreate anything you see in the included levels and much more. However, it still requires a great deal of time and skill to develop something that people will actually want to play, and despite the best intentions of the developer, it's a feature that not everyone will be able to take full advantage of. The overall result is a game that's incredibly fun while it lasts, and one that has the potential to be taken further by its community.

Really fun game, great multiplayer

When I picked up my PS3 this winter, this was one game I KNEW I had to get. It was well reviewed across the board and I figured it was worth at least a look. So when I got the game, I put it in and I finished the single player in about 2 days. But then the game was just beginning. After that, obviously, I wasn't done. I had to get all the collectibles, costumes, and other gadgets that you can use to build your own levels. So, me and my girlfriend sat down and went through it again. I must say that the game is enjoyable single player-wise, But it really shines with multi-player. To see your Sackboy or Sackgirl running with others is really a simple pleasure that you can't know unless you experience it yourself. Not to mention the very robust create-a-level options. With enough imagination, you could do just about anything in these. I've created carnival levels myself that include ridable roller coasters, ferris wheels, carousels and the like. Very very good game that has a very high re-playability if your creative

Review about Little Big Planet AKA LPB
Created: 06/05/10
This game is absolutely mind blowing. There is sooo much you can do in this game that it is mind boggling. You can play with your friends, make tons more of new friends from across the world, and create your own levels where you can challenge yourself or have a friend challenge it with you...best party game out there. If you wanna have a good time with friends, recommend this game to them and start building your own sack boy. They are so easily customizable and such great fun to be creative with. You will spend hours with your buddies just tackling fun, new adventures and worlds that other LBPers have made. And you can even rate it and browse through the levels to see which ones everyone else has liked. Overall this is an absolutely great game. GO and GET it NOW lol.

Great Game!!

The game revolves around the player's control of a small character, known as a Sackboy or Sackgirl — or gender-neutral Sackperson — owing to their appearance, in a variety of platforming scenarios. Though the game features a set of pre-built levels for the player to explore, the game's customisable nature is equally important, from altering the player's character and personal space, to building entirely new objects and levels, and then sharing and playing them online with other players as part of the LittleBigPlanet community.

LittleBigPlanet has received wide critical acclaim from reviewers. The first major publication to review LittleBigPlanet was the UK edition of PlayStation Official Magazine. In their November edition they gave the game a score of 10/10 calling it "a beautifully elegant and powerful creative tool that puts unlimited potential in the palm of your hand".[113] Eurogamer scored the game 9/10. Reviewer Oli Welsh commented specifically on the game's "unforgettable visuals" and that the accurate lighting was "as total a realisation of high-definition as you'll see anywhere in games this year". He similarly praised the multiplayer gameplay as "a loosely-structured scrum of competition, collaboration and sheer, joyful mucking around". Speaking of the game's comprehensive creation and community tools in contrast with its classic platforming gameplay, he calls the game "the future and the past of videogames, rolled into one".[107] IGN (U.S.) scored it 9.5/10 and said the game was an "instant classic". The reviewer, Chris Roper, also suggested that the game may even be a reason to buy a PlayStation 3; "If you own a PlayStation 3, you cannot miss this. If you don’t have a PS3 yet, this is the reason to get one."[13] GamePro scored the game 5/5 and said that the real strength of the game "is the tremendous sense of freedom and creativity that it instils in you."[110] Edge gave it a 10/10 and said "It's a multiplayer riot, a visual landmark, a feat of engineering, and one of the most charming games ever made. But even those accolades are dwarfed by its scope, its potential, and the apparent endlessness of them both."[106] Ben "Yahtzee" Crowshaw said "[The Sackboy character] looks like the result of a sinister military experiment to concentrate cuteness to a weaponized level..." in one of his Zero Punctuation reviews for the Escapist online magazine
