LocoRoco (PlayStation Portable, 2006)

Okay, for full and accurate disclosure, I actually haven't played the full game just yet -- only the demo. But I can say that if the demo is any indication of the actual game, "Loco Roco" will be one of the best if not the best games ever made for the PSP.

What is "Loco Roco"? Well, it's a very simple game. You are trying to protect the uber cute (yes people, they are adorable!) blobs of stuff called Loco Roco from the evil monsters trying to eat them. Gameplay couldn't be easier -- just use the shoulder buttons to "tilt" the screen from left to right to move the Loco Rocos to the exit. Along the way, you will need to feed them, get around obstacles, and avoid enemies. I admit that this doesn't sound all that interesting or fun, but it really is! The charm of Loco Roco is it's simplicity and yes, cute factor. The game is so easy to learn that you can be playing within just a minute or so. And the levels are bright and colorful and make the game look like a cartoon but in a good sense. Also the music...wow! It's so fun and lively and upbeat! The songs are really cute even though you can't understand them because they are gibber jabber. But still you will love the catchy music!

I never thought I'd use the word "cute" to describe a video game, but this game deserves the label. It's so much fun! A warning though: keep this game away from any females as they are likely to take it from you to save the little Loco Rocos! :D

LocoRoco is one of a few purchase-worthy titles for Sony's handheld player. Although the design and gameplay is very childlike in nature, it is upbeat and not at all obnoxious. The story is simple, but cute, and the "characters" are surprisingly evocative. I wholeheartedly recommend this title to all PSP owners.

Fun for all ages and quite simple to navigate. Mastering all the levels does take some skill. Hidden passageways and secret tunnels that must be found to save all the LocoRoco and win all the prizes. It is fun to help pass the time. Even my wife and kids like it. I would recommend this game to all PSP owners.

I first tried this game as a download on the PSP game site. From playing that one level I was hooked! You play as a cute little blob that grows as you eat. You push the left and right buttons to roll yourself up and down hills. You can also make yourself split onto many tinier yous' in order to fit between cracks. If you like pick up and play games which I do, this is a good choice. The sound effects and music are cute as are the characters. The game play only requires the pushing of 2 buttons(very very easyyy). The graphics are bright and happy. I would say this is a good pick-me-up of a game. Its very kid friendly and you shouldnt need the handbook to play as there is an in-game tutorial. Sorry, I cannot compare this game to any other because it is a one of a kind, but if you like games like Katamari and Downstream Panic, this is a good additon.

This is one of the funnest games out there for the hand held game systems!
A MUST HAVE game for the PSP no matter what the age...once you start playing you quickly lose track of time and will find yourself playing it for hours on end! It has multiple levels, which are easy to make it through, but the great thing is, is that you can do it over and over again and try to beat your last score and find things you missed in first time pass! I highly recommend this game to all who own a PSP. It's hard to find...once in a while you'll be lucky to find it at a GameStop/Used Game Shop...or a KMart or WalMart. Ebay is always a great first place to look!
