Nice for desktop music
Created: 25/02/10
These speakers are not stereo monitors but they are very good desktop speakers for playing music, games and the occasional movie. You're not going to hear orchestral sound you have never heard before on your prize CDs or mp3s; but if you play hip-hop, pop or rock there aren't any undiscovered sounds anyway and these guys might just blow you away considering their price point. These speakers offer fairly accurate, distortion free fidelity even at higher (for your desktop) volume levels. The highs aren't muffled, the base is strong and the midrange is actually pleasing. The overall effect is smooth, rich, moderately bright music that has depth and dimension packaged in a stylish dual cone configuration. Not a bad trick for under a hundred bucks.
My only complaint is that the wiring options are a little limited. The power button, volume nob and headphone jack are built into the case for the right speaker. The connecting cable between speaker and the Sub is a little short as is the cable for connecting to your soundcard's output jacks thus definitely limiting the placement of the Sub.
That being said, if you want a set of desktop monitors to critically listen to multidimensional orchestral music go out and pay the $400 (each) and up monitors will cost you. This set will not replace a moderately priced home entertainment system. If, on the other hand, you want to listen to some music while you work, or play some games, or watch a movie (or bother your partner in the next office through closed doors with the surprisingly robust volume this set is capable of)and decent sound is enough; than get these speakers.

Speakers on a budget

The speakers were really easy to set up and have great sound. If you have a fairly good sound system in your computer in these are the speakers for you. The bass is fantastic and when you play music through them they sound the best. They have a lot of volume in game sound really cool with surround sound. I have every confidence in the world that when you buy a set of these speakers you will love them as much as I do.

This is on of Logitech best speaker systems. Good quality surround sound if you have the rite source to star with . Looks good well made.I can rock the house when I crank it up 1/2 way. The purchase was for a friends build. I`ve had the same system for 3 years and it performs as well as it did the day a purchased it. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for great sound for movies games and music for little money.

when i get the speakers, i notice that the speaker have 3 plugs and my computer and my tv have only one...after a few days checking on ebay i found a plug to connect one to the tv/computer and the the plugs to the speakers. was disappointing to need to buy other thing to connet my speakers, in fact i bought other attachment that wasn't work at all, maybe in the description they have to say that if you don't have a 5.1 audio card you going to need this external plug to connect your computer or tv with the speakers. after that the speaker are amamazing, sound very good, but overall i prefer the other logitech that i have in my other computer, they are very old(5 o 6 years) but sound amamzing

Amazing Speakers!!!

This system is such a great setup for my laptop and a creative soundblaster 5.1 card. The satellite speakers are perfectly balanced with the powerful sub. And for the low price these are selling at, its a great choice over the X-540 (the newer system offered by logitech that is nearly the same exact system).
My only complaint would be that the cables are rather short but the problem can be fixed by proper placement of speakers and possibly some extensions for the rear speakers.
In total I spent $50 for the speakers, $50 for the sound card, and $4 for the additional cables. Around $100 for a great 5.1 system for your PC is a great deal.
