) This is a great epic western with indelible performances from Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones and the rest of the cast. Even if you've viewed the DVD edition, you will truely be impressed with the Blu ray release with its great, sharp vibrant picture quality. Since this was a 1988 production, it does not offer the advanced audio formats of current Blu ray films, but the Dolby Digital sound is still excellent. Well worth owning!

) I did not see the mini-series when it first ran on tv but now wish that I had. This is one of the all-time great Westerns-with superb acting, directing, & cinematography. The characters are fully developed and not the cardboard cliches often dished out in mini-series and Westerns. The blu-ray copy is vivid and makes the images seem fresh and new. My only qualm with this picture (and it's a very small one) is the ending in the last episode. It left you expecting another chapter when there was not one forthcoming. All in all, my advice is to buy a copy and revel in its riches.

Lonesome Dove at it's best, at last you get the true way of the west with the sound to back it up. Once more you get to join in on the adventure of the Texas Rangers Gus McCrae and Wooddrow Call in widescreen and 5.1 Surround witch makes the west come to life, the only bad thing is the at time the film was made the Digital film was not avalable. Now that would have been the perfict film. If it's been a while for you, Now is the time to watch once more and join in for the way it was made to watch. True & Blu-Ray.

one of the greatest series of all time. loved it! the blu-ray is incredible. would suggest purchasing this item to anyone who loves westerns
