Looney Tunes - Back in Action (DVD, 2004, Full Frame)

Joe Dante, Dean Cundey, Brendan Fraser|Theatrical release: 2003 | Rating: PG (MPAA)

Movie synopsis

Joe Dante directs this fast-paced, inventive combination of animation and live action with irreverent, comic flair. In Hollywood, Daffy Duck is jealous of Bugs Bunny's success and demands a pay increase. Instead of giving him a raise, Kate (Jenna Elfman) a fed-up studio executive, fires Daffy and has him escorted off the lot by security guard D.J. Drake (Brendan Fraser). Drake is a wannabe stunt man who is heading to Las Vegas to find his missing father, Damian Drake (Timothy Dalton), a famous actor/secret agent in search of the elusive Blue Monkey Diamond (a diamond that turns humans to monkeys). Out of work, Daffy joins D.J. while Kate and Bugs Bunny follow, desperate to rehire Daffy. Meanwhile, Damian Drake is being held captive by the evil Mr. Chairman (Steve Martin), a mad scientist who wants the Blue Monkey Diamond for his own nefarious plot to rule the world. Their quest for Damian and the Diamond sends Daffy, D.J., Kate and Bugs on a global adventure, full of hilarious Hollywood spoofs and pop culture trivia. References to INDIANA JONES in the African jungle, or STAR WARS while in space are just a few of the nonstop Hollywood parodies. The entire Looney Tunes cast of characters join the stars, including Elmer Fudd, Tweety Bird, Foghorn Leghorn and many others in this dizzying adventure.

Great Family Movie

How can you go wrong with Branden Frasier. It's people and animation together, kind of like "who framed roger rabbit". There's lot's of action. Steve Martin is the mad man who wants to get a special blue diamond so he can change people into monkeys. Bugs Bunny, Daffy and many more characters are there to save the day.

Seems this generation has been missing out on all the old classics from Warner Brothers. This movie was a great introduction to this generation about the new modern classic cartoons from Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Roadrunner, and the Coyote... The movie is LOADED with cameos', so pay close attention....

Fun - true to it's classic roots

I mostly appreciated that it was true to traditional Warner Bros fare. Intelligently stupid. Well done, good acting, great effects. The Special Features were good. Not too long. Not just listening to someone's opinion of why they did whatever. Good information on animation technology and other specifics. I like getting deleted scenes, and I could easily see why the scenes used were chosen over the deleted ones. Great Looney Tunes humor! Great balance between tunes and live action.

wonderful family movie

This is a very good movie for family entertainment. My family had a good time to enjoy it. If you like Bug Bunny, Daffy Duck and other Warner Brothers' Cartoon characters, you will like to see them altogether. The story is well done and keeps your interest to the end.

Good movie for kids

Good clean movie for my son. The old cartoons are the best. Bugs, Daffy, Marvin, coyote, and roadrunner are fun and funny to watch.
