I thought I thaw a Pwutty tat

Yet another great 4 disc set from Warner Brothers. Each November I look forward to a new Volume being released as this seems to be the trend for the last 4 years.
This four disc set contains 60 cartoons and clocks in at over 414 minutes. Some of these shorts have never been released on video before.
Each cartoon has been digitally remastered and is uncut and uncensored.
Each disc is organized with a central theme. Disc One focuses on Bugs Bunny. Disc Two focuses on one director. Disc Three is all about Speedy Gonzales and Disc 4 is the "Kitty Korner".
There are many commentaries and behind the scenes featurettes, as well as a documentary from 1975 about Bugs Bunny. There is some great footage from the vaults and one includes Porky Pig swearing..(NO Kidding) Mono English soundtrack with English, Spanish, and French subtitles.
My only gripe about this set is the way in which the discs fit in the digipak. This is smaller then the first three volumes and 2 discs are stacked on top of each other. They tend to fall out inside the box and get scratched. Not a good idea. I hope they go back to the larger format box for Volume 5.
Overall a wonderful quality set with nice picture and sound. A bonus to my collection.

looney tunes golden collection vol 4

This collection could have been a whole lot better withoutthe inclusion of an entire disc worth of the dreaded "Speedy Gonzales" cartoons--a series which always made me cringe whenever they would play on Saturday mornings.
On the other hand, there are some great Bugs cartoons here.
Unfortunately though, there are also a lot of those annoying old Looney Tunes which are almost irrelevant and disconnected to the whole Bugs/Daffy/Wile E Coyote legacy, with parodies of Hollywood and other one-off themes and characters.
In all honesty, I only enjoyed two out of the four discs in this set, and was disappointed in the purchase.
However, if you want some of the great old Bugs cartoons--most notably the Yosemite Sam "Whoa dragon!!" and also another hilarious "Sir Loin of Pork" knight-themed short, then you'll have to have it. As I did.

Part of America's Greatest Legacy
Created: 29/02/08
I am a 55 year old husband and father of two college bound teenagers, and I encourage anyone to spend a few hours enjoying the nostalgic world of Looney Tunes cartoons. This is an example of America at its peak-in cars and cartoons-simultaneously innocent and supremely confident in its outlook. Many of us would love to have the bravado of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, or even Wile E. Coyote, and these cartoons allow us to experience that confidence, even with its hazards. The special features and the beautiful re-mastering seal the deal, making the purchase of these sets a must for those who secretly or openly love America's classic cartoons.
