    Product description

    Synopsis
THE LOST GOSPEL tells the back story of the discovery, in Egypt in the 1970s, of an ancient codex containing a controversial version of the story of Jesus and Judas, and its journey through the antiques trade until it reached its final destination at the Maecenas Foundation for Ancient Art. Documentary filmmaker Herbert Krosney tells how the ancient artifact was restored, translated, and ultimately published, under the auspices of the National Geographic Society, as THE GOSPEL OF JUDAS in 2006. Religion scholar Bart Ehrman provides commentary on the historical and religious background of early Christianity.

I try to keep an open mind about most subjects, including my strict catholic education; I could not get past the first chapter. Number one it is boring.
I wanted to find out more about what the gospel said, not how it was discovered. So, I jumped to the last chapter! No enlightenment there either. I think the book was written more for the ones who like finding things, deep, dark things. I for one, will take the bible version.

    The Lost Gospel by Krosney

I read this book from cover to cover and it reads like a James Bond thriller. Not only that, it describes who the movers and shakers are in the antiquities market. If you have something ancient to sell (I'd like to know about it) then you need this book to get to know what's "out there", the pitfalls and dangers (YES THERE ARE!)as well as the legal issues involved in selling something that will be in the public eye. A well researched, informative and enjoyable read. I highly recommended if your interest is in ancient Biblical texts as well.
