    Album Notes
Personnel: Kool Keith (rap vocals).Recording information: Brisbaine, Australia; L.A., CA; N.Y.C., NY.Photographer: Mark Likosky. After the unimpressive first volume, no one was begging for another dig through Kool Keith's discarded tracks. Lost Masters, Vol. 2 lays out a claustrophobic set of demos and leftovers with little care for flow, but as with nearly all his B-list releases, there's a couple numbers here that make this worth a look for fanatics. Here, Keith at his most inspired is Keith at his horniest. "She Likes Your Sex" recalls the best bedroom R&B on Keith's extremely limited Personal Album, while the very silly "Varoom" brings pervert reminders of his porno-core classic Sex Style. Other numbers of note are the amusing diss-fest "Iraqi Verse," which has absolutely nothing to do with Iraq, and "Keep on Jumpin," an infectious club track that could have been a single had KutMasta Kurt gotten a hold of it. ~ David Jeffries

    Keith's mixed bag o' tricks

    Created: 28/02/08
Sigh^ this album overall is flat and empty, a lot of throwaway records.Volume 2, unlike its predecesser is not wholly wack...in fact I begrudgingly suggest any Kool Keith fan pick it up, yeah thats right, pick it up. Of the fifteen tracks on this volume, only three are worthwhile. But, these three are iller than most complete albums by others. The opening track,'Move', has Keith rhyming even more aimlessly than normal to a mechanical bass and drum loop like a man on a mission to save civilization.Peep- Marc Live with the nonhookish chorus, ominously warning to."MOVE,GETOUT,RUNFORCOVER,BREAKOUT...".Track 2 "Women Turn On Your T.V." backs up the opener with music and imagery fresh outta that movie "Videodrome" or something, haunting. I don't hesitate to say it's one of the top ten Kool Keith records of all-time. These two record alone are worth the buy...along with 'Star Struck', where Keith again envelopes himself into Hollywood after dark. 'Vrooom' and 'Think You're Sexy' are decent if not good. Kool Keith's Lost Masters Volume 2 gives mixed bag for listeners of real hip hop.
