I liked it!

this movie is an excellent love story, but the ending was very sad and dissapointing. I was hopeing for a happy ending where they got married and lived happily ever after, like normal love stories. ON the other hand it wasn't predictable like other movies. But what you have to realize is it is based on a true story, and you can't change the endings of life, so that you like them. The actors had great chemistry and I do recomend this movie. There is some graphic scenes and gore in this film. I enjoyed this movie but it did make me cry because it made me realize life doesn't have a happy ending and what the soldiers go through, to fight for our freedom.

It was just fantastic...being a true Hemingway fan A+

I've always been a great Hemingway fan....but this story really allows you to see the man who started off so innocent and how his character evolved ...how his pain of his lost love, the betrayal and the hardened stubborn pride that kept him from the woman he truely loved yet refused to bend an inch and have it....after seeing this you can view his later writings and see so much of where his stories came from within him, as well as how he was miserable his whole life after the war...the failed marriages the susbtance abuse and the eventual ending of his own life...a wonderful and yet heartbreaking dipiction of Ernest Hemingway

Love can be hurtful

Created: 07/05/08
Based on a true story that was a tragedy. You're dragged through the trials of war and a couple's short relationship near the end of WW I. Characters were well played by the stars. Sandra Bullock fans should be pleased, although her portrayal was serious versus her more often comedic. If you like delving into love relationships, no matter the outcome, then by all means see this one.

Love story about an 18 year old Hemingway

Created: 13/08/06
Good love story with a couple of twists.O'Donnel plays a young Ernest Hemingway who goes to war only to fall head over heels for a medical aid (Sandra Bollock).

Some action and attitude, An all around good movie.

In Love and War

Wonderful film! I just finished studying Hemingway's novel, A Farewell to Arms, and thought that this was a perfect movie to describe the background for the novel. O'Donnel played a wonderful lead that was very convincing. Great actors!
