Taking a whole new direction in utility and value, the iWAY™ 600C is the first to offer both precision street-ready and marine-ready navigation... including a wealth of road mapping, plus charting for inland and coastal waters with depth contours. Also displays detailed satellite imagery of cities with streets overlay. All in one complete waterproof package at an affordable price.

ONE OF THE BEST!

This unit is used as a factory GPS for Pacar (Peterbilt/Kenworth) Class 8 trucks and I have grown to love this thing. The complaint list is small. It takes a lot longer to recalculate and loses its place more often than the Mio 520C that I purchased for my car. It occasionally reboots itself, but not often enough to be a bother. It has me at a maximum speed of 764 miles per hour and I was watching the screen when this happened as it had me flying across fields in my 18 wheeler as if I was in a jet airplane. FAVORITE FEATURES the ability to overlay data in 4 different sizes and move them anywhere on the HUGE screen. I love the non-wide screen / split screen. It is very BRIGHT and easily dimmed when the sun goes down with 5 different levels of brightness at your fingertips. I love the external buttons as they are much better than having them cluttering your touch screen or burried in a menu somewhere. This unit is built in to my dash on my Peterbilt so the size weight and lack of offering a battery is not an issue with this unit, but I can see where trying to use this as a "portable" unit might not be as good as other units. I plan on buying one for my next truck and seeing about intergrating it in the dash of my new truck like it is in my current truck. This is an awesome unit, but do your research because the size/weight might be a turn off for some.

Travel with ease.

This gps has provided my family with sanity and calmness in our travels. Every bit of information needed for planning our 3000 mile vacation was preprogramed before leaving home, including door to door directions to lodging, dining, and special interests. No frustration with missed road signs, and if we were to alter our course, the gps would easily get us back on track with no effort on our part. For the first time ever, I was able to set the cruise control and just relax knowing that I was heading the right direction. I took the gps on my hunting trip last year and was amazed at the off road detail. I will never travel without a gps again.

Yes, it's big. Yes, it's heavy. Yes, it <was> a good GPS when it worked. Hold on to your #@%$ if it malfunctions. The iway 600C has a hard drive like your computer does. I owned mine for about 1-1/2 years and then it all of a sudden came up with a "boot fail" error. Plan on an hour on hold waiting for someone from Lowrance support to discuss the problem. You think I am kidding, just give it a try before you buy one. Call Lowrance at 1-800-324-1356, follow the voice prompts for customer support for this unit, and see for yourself how long it takes for you to speak to a human. 58 minutes later when they finally answered, I was told they don't fix these and they have a flat rate charge of $299.95 for repair. Again, they don't fix them, so I would get a new one with just a six month warranty. Oh by the way, it will be three months before Lowrance will have any to ship out. Again, you will probably be happy with this unit if you buy one but if it malfunctions you will be as disgusted with Lowrance and their poor customer service and poor product support as I am.

The Best GPS
Created: 24/06/08
I tried many brands of GPS before settling on the 500C. However, the upgrade to the 600C is really worth it. I also have a built in GPS in my car, but it does not even allow a passenger to change routing while the car is moving. The 600C is by far the easiest to use GPS I have encountered, and with a built in antenna you can get by in a lot of places without buying the external antenna. I love the elevation feature and so many of the other features that make this an easy to use GPS. My built in refuses to find "cities", only places in the cities. The 600C will find the city center for you in the lookup, and does it very quickly. It excels in every category of use, including finding the nearest rest stops.
