One of television's longest-running and most beloved shows of all time is now available in one extraordinary DVD collection. Loaded with top-rank extras that every M*A*S*H fan will love, this Ultimate Collection contains all 251 episodes from the entire 11 heartwarming and hilarious seasons, including the record-breaking series finale entitled "Goodbye, Farewell And Amen" (still the most-watched episode in TV history); the original 1970 film from acclaimed Oscar-nominated director Robert Altman, with cast members Elliot Gould, Donald Sutherland, Robert Duvall and Sally Kellerman; two acclaimed specials reflecting on the 20th and 30th anniversaries of the series; two all-new bonus discs and a retrospective book created exclusively for this release. No fan of this program could ever forget all those unforgettable characters (Hawkeye, Trapper John, Father Mulcahy, Hot Lips, Klinger, Henry Blake, Frank Burns, Radar, B.J. Hunnicut, Sherman Potter, Winchester) or any of the stellar, stand-out moments that helped to make this one-of-a-kind series that documented life during the Korean War so enjoyable. This collection ranks as one of the 10 best DVD sets ever released, and it is a real treat to have it altogether in one handy package. Relive all your favorite M*A*S*H memories with the doctors and nurses of the 4077th that kept us in stitches- and created a true television classic. And remember; "Suicide Is Painless".

A classic no one should miss

I remember watching this in syndication when I was about 5 years old. MASH was still on the air for about 2 more years on CBS, so I got to see a lot of early programs while watching the end. I dont remember seeing the final episode until about 10 years ago on FX, and it can easily be said it's the most powerful, emotional episode in the entire series. It ranks right next to Colonel Henry Blake leaving MASH and Radar goes home as the hardest episodes to sit through without getting very emotional. MASH did something that very few TV shows before or since have ever done: it took a very real time in American history, and managed to convey humor and the seriousness of a situation. While episodes like Trapper and Hawkeye going to Tokyo and turning the town upside down, and the constant drag attempts like Klinger to get out are always balanced by Henry Blake not getting home, soldiers losing their sight or limbs, racism and nepotism. While it got a little preachy towards the end, the humor and characters were still present. Most shows when they startlosing major players, the quality immediately drops. Not so with MASH. While Henry Blake left, quickly followed by Trapper John, they were replaced by the very fatherly Colonel Father and BJ Honeycutt. Not long after, the bumbling Frank Burns was replaced by Charles Emerson Winchester. Then Radar went home. Every character had it's great strengths and weaknesses, and each one made the show in their own way. For every prank that Hawkeye and Trapper or BJ played on Burns, it came back when they tried to do it to Winchester. I think for every generation growing up, it should be required viewing to see what quality television really was. Too many people think 'quality' is Friends, Seinfeld, Everyone Loves Raymond. Fact of the matter is, television died back in the mid 90s when shows like Roseanne and Home Improvement, Cheers and Fraiser all left the air.

The Ultimate M*A*S*H Collection

Created: 04/04/07
I was thrilled to find the M*A*S*H: Martini's & Medicine Collection on eBay. It comes complete with all 11 seasons of M*A*S*H, 2 bonus discs loaded with extras & M*A*S*H, The Movie. I've been watching M*A*S*H since I was a baby, & at 20 years old now, I still love it. My father was absolutely thrilled when I received this DVD set. He watched every episode from 1972-1983 when the show was on, & watches re-runs on TV. He loves the fact that there's at least one extra scene on the DVDs that was never aired on television.

This is an excellent collection for any M*A*S*H fan. You save money buy buying these DVDs in bulk, plus the bonus discs aren't available on the individual season DVDs. It also comes in a army-like canvas cover (see picture) & a small "clipboard" inside that holds a book. The book lists every M*A*S*H episode, the season #, disc # & synopsis.

I would strongly recommend this set for all M*A*S*H fans.

A show worth wasting your time on.

Created: 17/01/10
This show unlike so many "great" shows was the pioneer in many story telling and filming techniques that revolutionized film and television. Before this show there was really nothing remarkable on and they tried to push the envelope, which had paid off for 11 years. Anybody who says they don't like MASH hasn't watched an entire episode because if they had, there would be no debate. This show was the first show on television to actually say "Son of a Bitch" which back then was very rare. For a comedy, it wasn't really a funny show... it was a remarkable moral fibre filled series full of heart and character development with funny aspects in it. Any good show or movie, no matter the genre, should have some funny moments in it. It's what makes us human. But anyway, if you havn't seen this show, see it! It's always on T.V. and now everything created including the original movie is all in one box set. The price isn't alot either, when I bought it, it cost me $100... not bad for 36 discs and countless hours of entertainment.

An historic jump back into TV's golden past

Created: 07/02/11
M*A*S*H is one of the great all-time TV shows. Something with which many of us grew up, loved, laughed, and cried. 11 years of drama, comedy, romance, fear, sadness, and in the end a better sense of ourselves through the eyes of the members of the 4077th. Never before, and I believe since, has there been a television show that so touched everyone in the country.

If I were to pick a single television show that I absolutely had to have in my collection, this would be it.
