Mad Bear (Boyd, Doug) 1994

Created: 11/01/09
Bought this book because it's about a relative of mine (2nd cousin). My dad was friends with him and joined AIM because of him. Much of this book was accurate, but have also found out that it has contributed to "Indian Mythology". The Longest Walk came thru town in 2008 marking the 30th anniversary and after speaking with original walkers from 1978, Mr. Boyd's version is very exaggerated. My preparation for their arrival was waaaaaaaay overboard because I believed him. I don't discount other things Mr. Boyd says, but it certainly leaves a lot up for scrutiny. Overall, it's an excellent read, but read it with the knowledge that it's not necessarily accurate. It clears up much of the misinterpretation of Mad Bear's purpose in life ... that I know for sure.
