It features Deep Purple Mark III, with David Coverdale on vocals and Glenn Hughes on bass and vocals. Coverdale is a convincing hard rock singer, though he lacks the winning quirkiness of Ian Gillan, while Hughes is a busier and more up-front player than Roger Glover. While "Burn" and "Mistreated" are worthy successors to previous Deep Purple tunes, the remaining material is weaker, and overall, this stuff is definitely a couple of notches below the glory days of Made in Japan. But Blackmore, for his swan song, still manages to inject a good deal of excitement, and his invention and fire raise the proceedings up somewhat. ~ Stephen Raiteri

    Great remastering at low price

    Created: 21/03/10
I prefer to buy remastered music CD of 60's-70's which could not be found
locally at any CD stores. And this is not a disappoint decision. Sound quality is far better than the original issued CD which I had bought fifteen years ago. All tracks are outstanding. I used to have cassette if there's no remastered version of any albums.
Some bonus songs , at least one, should be added
to this album as another remastered albums alway have it. Anyway ,
this album is quite great enough , since bonus with poor sound and performance alway spoil the original songs on the album.
