    Movie synopsis

Considered by some to be an unsung slasher classic, MADMAN follows the lives (and gruesome deaths) of six counselors working at the North Sea Cottages for Gifted Children during the chilly month of November. After hearing the tale of Madman Marz, the local psycho who murdered his family and who will supposedly appear if his name is called loudly enough, one unfortunate victim tempts fate by doing exactly that. Soon enough, the inevitable happens, and bloody, axe-grinding mayhem ensues.

I used to hate the slasher genre. Its so cliched, and even stereotypical. How many times can they play upon the same summer camp murder-spree theme?
The fact is, some of the would-be FFt13th knock-offs out there actually hold their own quite well. 'Madman' is a fine example of this phenomena. Instead of being forced to stare onto a dark screen, the night footage is shot extremly well. It makes use of intelligent back-lighting and slick editing, which only gives this seldom seen slasher a sense of quality.
I personally like the throbbing soundtrack way better than "Friday"'s. It actually plays well with the movie.
If you can track down the Anchor Bay DVD you won't be disappointed.

    DVD was done very well

This movie is for 80's horror fans only. I would think that if someone had seen Wrong Turn 2 and then watched this they would think that Wrong Turn 2 probably got alot of it's inspiration from Madman. The difference between the 2 movies is that Madman has only one killer while Wrong Turn 2 has the whole mutated village thing going on. All in all I still enjoyed Madman enough to seek it out on dvd and have it in my collection.

Madman is an 80's gem for horror fans. Filled with woodsy atmosphere and campers just waiting to be killed, "Madman" follows some of the same formula of the 80's slasher movies. I can see fans comparing it to Friday The 13th, but personally I like the mystique and story of Madman Mars. This particular dvd is oop and hard to find. They re-released an anniversary version on dvd however, so fear not..Madman Mars isn't far away!

This is a real low budget horror-movie, a maniac who killed a lot of people, but I did´t even like the effects. This is a real Bad Horror-Movie.

Love this movie! Classic! I purchased it to add to my horror collection, and I remember sitting through the rated R movie the day it came to the theaters.
