In MAJOR PAYNE, starring Damon Wayans, one highly trained Marine Corps killer is manipulated by his former commanding officer into joining the staff of Madison Academy. His mission: whip the academy's ROTC misfits into shape in eight weeks and win the trophy for best student military unit in Virginia. Major Payne's new charges include all manner of cliched characters (the nerd, the fat kid, the dedicated military type, the arrogant surfer guy, and a little kid) who are not interested in becoming a top unit. He also encounters Miss Walburn, whose looks interest him more than her ideas on relating to his students.
Smart enough to create a character that would best showcase his wise-cracking persona, Damon Wayans is also the movie's writer and executive producer. MAJOR PAYNE's fast-paced script, good supporting characters and solid acting save the movie from the predictable "misfits-make-good" plot. The general air of light comedy is undercut, though, by an overuse of bathroom invective. Also, Payne is portrayed as a strong figure primarily because of his prowess with his fists and quick tongue. Despite the vulgarities, the movie has a happy ending and some inventive humor. MAJOR PAYNE is ultimately a juvenile comedy for grown-up children only. Hard work, a desire to be the best and teamwork are extoled, but the message is wrapped in a wry, adult wrapper.

Created: 08/03/08
Story Plot: -
Major Benson Winifred Payne is being discharged from the Marines. Payne is a killing' machine, but the wars of the world are no longer fought on the battlefield. A career Marine, he has no idea what to do as a civilian, so his commander finds him a job - commanding officer of a local school's JROTC program, a bunch or ragtag losers with no hope. Using such teaching tools as live grenades and real bullets, Payne starts to instill the corp with some hope. But when Payne is recalled to fight in Bosnia, will he leave the corp who has just started the believe in him, or will he find out that killing' ain't much of a livin'?
Personally, I think this is a good movie for the family.
Apart from the funny jokes, it tell the story of love. Whether it is about male and female relationship, teachers' love for student, parental love, it got everything there. So beside being entertained with funny jokes and story plot, you also learn about how to handle relationship.
Great performance by the actors. Strongly recommended for viewing with family.

Lots of Laughs

This is a enjoyably, funny movie! Damon Wayans is great as the gold cap-toothed Major Payne, a gung-ho special ops marine-turned-Drill Sargent to a bunch of undisciplined military academy kids. The scenes of Payne addressing the kids military-style are great because of the jargon he uses, which makes for plenty of laugh out loud moments. I originally rented this movie some time ago and added it to my library after renting it again.

Love this Movie, Couldnt find anywhere else, Watch it with your children and they will see they have life pretty good. Damon Williams is excellent he can be as tough as the come but he does stick up for his kids.
