The b/w or color version of March of the Wooden Soldiers (originally titled "Babes in Toyland") is a must see for classic movie buffs, families, and kids whether you're a new kid or have been a kid for years. The movie uses characters from nursery rhymes, bringing them to life in a full-length feature film starring Stanley Laurel and Oliver Hardy, two of the most popular comedians of all time. Without giving away the plot, the movie is a triumph -- both for its "good versus evil" plot and simply as a darn good, clean movie anyone can watch. Made in the mid-30s, the film takes the viewer back to a time when going to the movies didn't have a hidden message, underlying propaganda theme, or push a social-bending issue. I bought it because it's the way a movie should be made - for everyone. Your child's language will not increase his age to 48, in other words. Special effects are more nostalgic than realistic but it still goes beyond today's films with its seemingly simplistic approach. A classic Laurel and Hardy, a must for good collections.

This a must have dvd for any Laurel & Hardy fan.The color restoration of this film is so good;makes it look as if it were originaly shot in technicolor but
of course it was filmed in black and white in the first place. The toyland characters make this a excellent dvd to watch for the whole family.

I bought this DVD because as kids my brothers, sisters and myself we would lay across the living room floor like railroad tracks in front of the TV watching this and singing the songs.
Finally having it in my possession just brings me back to those old holiday years and being with my family (that are no longer with me), just good, fun, memories of a happier youth.
This DVD is great for all ages - so if you can don't hesitate to get yourself a copy, if you enjoy good clean fun this ones for you.. or your children ... or grandchildren.. I rate this DVD highly they just don't make em' like this anymore !
