Skid mark on Snipes' resume.

I like Wesley Snipes, and he's made some great films, but "The Marksman" is flat embarrassing. I enjoy the DTV action movies Van Damme, Seagal, and Snipes have been putting out simply to hold onto the glory years on the late 80s/early 90s when these guys were the kings of action cinema. It's a run of nostalgia for me, and some truely are good films. And others are "The Marksman", that are genuinely embarrassing.
"The Marksman" is so unoriginal. Soldier behind enemy lines in the former Soviet Union finds out he was set up by high placed Officials. The action scenes are uninspired and plain bad. Not to metion, Snipes' suffering from Post Traumatic Stress, but we couldn't tell unless we got the "flashback" scene that is just reused footage of Jason Gedrick bombing the Iraqi airfield in "Iron Eagle". Yes, they used stock footage from a 1986 teen flick as his traumatic "incident". Then, when Snipes and his crew are dropped behind enemy lines, surprise here, they use that infamous scene from 1990's "Navy SEALs" that has been used in so many other low budget films.
Snipes just sleepwalks this one. The rest of the crew is terrible as well. I can't say that I enjoyed much of it. Snipes has a few scenes that are fun, and that is actually all that saves the day for me. This film, even at the 0.99 I won it for seemed questionable. I could have got a good Slurpee for this DVD.
I can't recomend it. I have to give it some credit for some a few decent scenes and stunts that looked on a theatrical level, but nothing else justifies this 96 minutes clunker.

This is a fantastic movie featuring Wesley Snipes as a soldier and he is the marksman, it shows how an army unit performs in adverse conditions and areas to protect the United States, they work as a team to prevent a problem from happening. I would definitely recommend this movie for all movie collectors, it is filmed extremely well and the portrayals are outstanding, just showing the situation or problem and how this team works together to complete their mission.
