Registered Dietitian's Perspective

I enjoyed this book and found Jillian Michaels' perspectives interesting to consider. However, she is not a registered dietitian and does not identify her proof of her theories. Is there research to support this? Don't get me wrong...I strongly agree with her promotion of a healthy diet and value her definition of such as eating whole, unprocessed foods. But has it been proven that artificial sweeteners, non-organic meats, and other chemicals in our food specifically alter our hormone receptors and cause us to store more fat? There is scientific evidence indicating that these synthetic foods/chemicals have been linked to cancer and other problems, but I would like to see the research linking them to metabolism. Regardless, she has inspired me to put forth more effort to recheck my food labels and take the time and money to select whole nutritious foods. She is relatable in her story of being an overweight adolescent with weight struggles. I don't mind the way the book is written; however, for the average consumer not in the profession, it is pretty scientific and I could see that it would be hard to follow. Check it out for yourself--no harm in reading it.

An interesting read

I liked this book. It has given me a chance to rethink what I eat and why. I don't like the excuse "I'm getting old" as the reason my body has changed. Understanding hormones and metabolism has really made a giant difference in my weight loss and my ability to lose fat and gain muscle. I am not at my goal weight just yet but I am heading in the right direction for a long satisfying life.

Easy to read, easy to understand and full of information! Whether you are working toward weight loss or to just be healthier this book can help you reach your goals! Jillian Michaels is a great trainer and provides you with information you can use every day of your life!

Excellent infomative Book

I've always been a fan of Jillian Michaels, and after reading her book I'm an even bigger fan. She has compiled lots of eye opening information concerning our everyday eating habits. We are literally killing ourselves little by little. The chemicals in our food supply and even the styrofoam cups we use is leading us to certain death. This is not just one of those "diet books". Jillian explains how to live a more healthy lifestyle. How to take the weight off and keep it off. It's not a good carb, bad carb, bad fat good fat approach either. Simply a combination of healthy foods. You can have a variety of foods in appropriate proportions. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in simply being healthy and feeling good.

This is the best investment I have ever made. This book changed my life. It opened up a complete understand of the health necessities of organic. When I bought the book I was in it for the weight loss aspect. But after reading it I gained so much more knowledge about what healthy and safe eating is all about.
I have changed alot about the way I eat and the way I do things now.
