According to him, everyone. Throughout MATTHEW's 19 tracks (two hidden, one a remix of "Sweet Unique," one an untitled track), Keith reveals his more sinister and bizarre (if that's possible) side.Starting with "F-U M.F." and "27 Shots," he gets tetchy about weak in-house record producers selling boring generic music to the public. Hunting down phony rappers in various NYC recording studios in "Operation Extortion," he threatens to "set you on fire and Kentucky fry you," and to "cut your hands off and throw your fingers in an ashtray." Reverting to classic rap beats, "Baddest MC" finds Keith airing his rhetoric and warning of his global takeover in 2001. Other highlights here are "I Don't Believe You," in which he waxes poetic about the unimpressive hyping of hip-hop artists; while in "Sweet Unique," featuring Black Silver, he rips the same artists for imitating their predecessors instead of trailblazing. "Shoes N Suits" is a narrative about performer/record label relations. Climaxing MATTHEW are the obligatory raw and racy tracks ("Do You Masturbate" and "Backstage Pass"), the latter concerning the indignities groupies endure to meet their favorite performers. Kool Keith is years ahead of his time.
