AIRBORNE! HOOHA!
Created: 07/10/07
Metal Of Honor Airborne continues the popular MOH series and and the tradition of solid game play.
If you have played any of the MOH or Call of Duty series, this game offers more of same Nazi-killing goodness. Significant changes to game play comes from the ability to land and start the game anyway on the map, leveling up weapons, and objectives that can usually be accomplished in any order and a greater reliance on cover. More than ever, there is a very heavy reliance on cover - run and gun tactics will get you killed. Methodical and patient strategies need to be applied. This is a welcome change from the numerous brain dead shooters. Controls themselves are overall good but I did find it frustrating not being able to throw grenades with one button, instead of switch back and forth between guns and grenades. While the levels themselves appear small, level design is quite intricate with multiple paths and options to completion. Supporting the level design is good AI; you truly feel like fighting with other members in an epic battle against smart enemies. The single player campaign is taut and highly enjoyable with the one complaint being that it ends all too quickly.
Graphics and sound come together to a final layer of shine on a game that is already good without good graphics/sound.
Simply put, if you like games like Call of Duty or shooters in general, this is a game you must play.

Medal of Honor : Airborne
Created: 07/08/09
Another game in the Medal of Honor line. I found this the most difficult of them all. The game is not hard per se, just takes a lot long to get thru levels than the other games in this series. Luckily there are only 8 levels in the campaign. I found the targeting system looks better than thre previous but is so accurate that you really have to be on target to hit anything. The biggest complaint is the AI....ANYTIME you get in the field of fire of a bot, they WILL switch on to you...no matter how many other targets there are or the range. Even when moving in cover it's like you have a big flag sticking up. It's very irksome to low crawl to a good ambush while 5-10 of your guys OPENLY assault a single enemy gunner...as SOON as you pop up he'll keep on you while the good guys stand around shooting at him...and of course they don't hit him. Besides that the graphics are good, gameplay is good, it'a just a good all around tactical shooter.

Good overall shooting game
| Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

This game is great. I bought it for my son who enjoys the Medal of Honor series, and this game stays consistent with the others. Good graphics, good game play, good story line, and realistic too. If you like shooter games just for the fun of it, you'll enjoy this one.

One of the best FPS games I've played
Created: 06/12/10
After trudging through Call of Duty World at War, I found Medal of Honor Airborne to be much more enjoyable. The concept is awesome - parachute down anywhere into the field of play. The fighting can be quite intense, but it's not so realistic that it's impossible to play. Grenades are thrown, but you can get away from them with relative ease. The graphics and scenery are awesome.
For added realism, the enemy can be unusually hard to kill at times. Unlike some FPS games of years past, the AI is getting better at their aim. If they can see you, their bullets will hit you. That adds some challenge to the game.
I like how you become more proficient with certain weapons and achieve bonuses, like better scopes, faster reloading, bigger clips, etc. Although, I don't know if there are enough enemies to kill in the entire game in order to master all the weapons.
I don't care for the checkpoint system which automatically saves your progress based on which objectives you've met, not which enemies you've killed. Like most gamers, I hate repetitive gameplay, but MOH probably added it just to make the game last a little longer.
If you're into FPS games, get this one. It's already one of my all-time favorites.

Replayable

I had this game for about a year and played the missions over and over. I loaned it to a friend and decided to just let him keep it because he loved it too. I bought another copy and am playing the missions again. There are a couple of cheats available, but they really are not needed. A fun part to this game is seeing what the upgrade features will be on the currently played weapon. There are three levels of play in the game and I mastered the Casual and Normal levels, but repeatedly get humbled when trying the Expert level. It's well worth the $15-20 that you can get it for here on eBay.
