Product description

Product Information
You are Sir Dan, a recently reincarnated knight who has lost all that unsightly flesh i.e., you're a skeleton and you must battle the evil sorcerer Zarok and his battalions of undead monsters. To combat these baddies, you have your trusty sword, an axe, and a bow that shoots flaming arrows at the ready. But this game is more than just hack-and-slash action; each level has unique puzzles that differ from stage to stage, giving a nice degree of variety to the title. Also, once a certain number of enemies are dispatched, you can gather up a chalice that gives you access to the Hall of Heroes, a place where heroic ghosts distribute special weapons or items with each visit. Of course, these visits are usually accompanied by a verbal chastising at your unworthy status as the champion of Gallowmere. And while this game has plenty of action, it is also filled with bright and colorful graphics, and has a light feel that will appeal to younger gamers.

A great game that deseves to be played!

Created: 24/06/10
Let me start off by telling you about what I had heard about the game: it was way to short. After playing it, I must disagree. The first thing you notice about the game is its beautiful graphics. From the bright Scarecrow Fields to the dark and dreary Haunted Ruins, the game is brought to life by the rich and lush graphics. Green-spewing fountains of rejuvination and and the splash of water look nothing short of incredible. I really can't impress upon you the brilliance of the graphics.

Next up is the audio. It is a wonderfully orchestrated game, with every tune setting you in the mood for the level. Music is rarely repeated through the game, and so you never know what you are going to hear, although you know it will just be wonderful. Like the graphics, I give the audio a large round of applause.

The third thing I would like to talk about is the story. It is beautifully setup, with Sir Daniel Fortesque being the protagonist of the story and Zarok being the arch villain. The fake hero gig Sir Daniel has is just rockin', I must say. There is just no way you can go wrong with the story that is told.

Finally, and most importantly, is the gameplay. Although it sounds cliche, you can very well compare Medievil to the classic Ghouls 'n Ghosts, and very few games can boast that. You run, jump and slash your way through the absorbing lands of Gallowmere. You must collect chalices in order to access the Hall of Heroes, which in turn allows you to wield new weapons and the like against the game's many bosses. That leads me to the next thing, the enemies you will face. The game's foes are your average zombies and skeletons, but thats about where you can leave the word average. Soon you find yourself fighting scarecrows, imps with pitchforks, flying demons, and many more. The bosses of the game are wonderfully creative, with you starting out against a stained glass demon, but then you move on to more of them, but I won't give anything away. However I will say that the boss of the flying ghostship is absolutely amazing. There is a ton of replay value in the game, with the chalices and abundant secret areas. It took me about two and a half weeks to finish the game. However, you will want to replay the game just to see the amazing locations and bosses again. Well, I can't tell you how much I adore this game. It deserves to be among the playstation's top games.

hellow ebay buyers, this is a review of one of the best psx games ever. you play as sir daniel fortesque a brave knight that they said led the army of gallowmere to fight the evil sorcerer zarok from rowling the world. they said that sir dan beat zarok, but was him self mortely wunded and died. during the game you find out that Dan did lead the army of gallomere however he was the first one to die in the fight. zarok is now back and resurrecs a undead army, and acsedently revives sir dan. now sir dan has to difeet zarok ones and for all. this game is filled with lots of action and puzzels. one thing i love about this game is its voice acting its kind of over the top but it is apropret for every thing in this game. another thing i like is the levels every level feals like it is coustom made for the game so you dont fell like you are playing the same level every time. you will also incowter some miny movies. the movies have ecselent grafics for a psx game. one thing that is not so grate about the game is its graficis they look poor but if you play it for 5 minetes you wont notes a thing. another thing that i dont like the games bad controls you cant use the anolog stick you have to use the derectinole pads wich is ok but some times i wish you coud use the anolage stick. this was the first game i have ever played and it is my favoret game ever. but anuf medievil is just about fun, fun, fun and i realy recemen this game if you have a psx or a ps2 go buy this game and if you dont have a psx or a ps2 go but one so you can play this game. MEDIEVIL ROCKS !!!!!!!!!

This was always one of my favorite PlayStation games.

Created: 15/06/10
I had bought two Playstation 1's when they first came out, I guess it was back in the early 90's. But, of course, the Playstation 2's came along and I could only afford one of those, but my daughter had a friend whose family didn't have a lot of money, so we decided to give them one of our PS 1's. And, we gave them some games with it, but I still had my MediEvil game at that time. As a matter of fact, I even had MediEvil 2 by then, so we kept some games for ourselves cause you could play them on the PS 2 as well. We ended up giving the 2nd PS 1 to my Mother, because she lived alone and she loved to play Crash Bandicoot games, so we gave her all of those, too. My daughter became really sick, and had to have heart surgery, and somewhere amidst all the chaos, we lost a lot of our Playstation games, taking them back and forth to the hospital, they would get broken or left in the car and warped, and somehow my 2 MediEvil games were lost as well. My daughter likes to play these games like Resident Evil and others in that genre,(and I thought MediEvil was wacked!) So, I stopped playing for years. Our PS2 wouldn't play any of the PS1 games anymore, so then my daughter became a Wii fanatic.I pretty much thought my game playing days were over,(she's 19, I'm a young 52.)Well, browsing around on ebay a couple of weeks ago, I not only found a copy of MediEvil,in excellent condition, but a used Playstation 1, with all the accessories, also in excellent condition, so I am happy to say that I am now back in the ranks of the gamers again.I felt like a kid on Christmas morning when everything arrived! So, anybody out there looking for that piece of your past, if you find it on ebay, by all means, BUY IT!!! Ebay has a great buyer protection plan that covers you from start to finish, so go for it!! I couldn't be happier if I had won the lottery! And with ebay's convenient search feature, just type in exactly what you're looking for, and if it's out there, you'll see it!! I'm going to continue to look for PS1 games on ebay. Because, finding this game was like a dream come true for me!!

An Adventure You'll Never Forget

Created: 12/07/07
MediEvil is a game that takes place around the Medieval times, much like it's name. You are a warrior that was killed by the first arrow shot in battle. It strikes you right in the eye and that's the end of Sir Daniel Fortesque's heroic battle. Sir Dan is layed to rest in a sort of coffin-tomb for many years. While he is dead, the evil wizard Zarok (who looks like a woman but is actually a man, really) is busy corrupting the world you live in and bringing the dead back to life. Finally, some sort of magic is imbued in Sir Dan's body and he is *magically* resurrected. He seeks vengeance on the evil wizard Zarok and his army for killing and humiliating him in battle. It's then that you (the player), take control of Sir Daniel Fortesque to give Zarok his just deserts.

The game is rather short (about 20 hours or so), but quite challenging at certain parts. There are many puzzles and plenty of fighting. There's also various weapons to unlock to make your adventure easier. The graphics of the game may not be top-notch, but considering that it came out in 1998, the graphics are quite astounding. Overall, an excellent game that you won't forget. A must-buy for any gamer that owns a Playstation, Playstaion 2, or even a Playstaion 3.

Solid game for PS1

Created: 03/05/09
Not my favorite on PS1, but pretty close. A lot of the game has you dealing with different scenario's, whether they would be riddles, not taking out the towns people, even at the very end of deciding how much health you skeletons need. The story at first I thought was pretty mediocre, then I found out that the main character actually died at the first siege, and now has a chance of reclaiming himself as a hero, it's that type of hook that really draws me to liking the story as not being mediocre, I wish more games could be like that. The weapons are not off hand, most consist of cutting instruments (swords,[enchanted and magical], axes, etc) blunt instruments(hammer; my favorite), and of course long-distance weapons(bow and crossbow, even lightning), and their is also special weapons that you have to work to get (Dragon Skin); which sets this game apart for it's varsity. Yes, it's a linear path, but it's a path that takes many turns, that lead you to either a surprise, or what you are looking for. If you like platform or action games, you can't go wrong with this game.
