Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge (Nintendo Game Boy, 1991)

Story (From Wikipedia/WikiKnowledge): "In the year 2009...Dr. Wily has returned and is sending old Robot Masters to defeat Mega Man. After defeating four of them (all of the Robot Masters from the first game neglecting Guts Man and Bomb Man), Mega Man heads to Dr. Wily's fortress and deals with the remaining four Robot Masters (taken from Mega Man 2 for the NES), and gets the Mirror Buster from Enker after defeating him. He then travels to Dr. Wily's space station to defeat Wily once again."

In essence, what Capcom did was take four of the robots from the original 1987 "Mega Man" (Fire Man, Cut Man, Elec Man, and Ice Man) and four robots from 1988/89's "Mega Man 2" (Bubble Man, Flash Man, Quick Man, and Heat Man) and add one new robot (the "Rockman Killer," Enker), remixing the game's stages (except that the robots from MM2 are all found within Wily's fortress).

The gameplay is almost identical to the NES classics except that the game is black-and-white and on the original GameBoy with slightly remixed musical scores. The game only features six stages and is brief, so the average Mega Man fan should be able to complete it within a very short period of time (an hour or so, give or take).

In the end, it is a fun game, but not the best...I give it a 3/5, or "average" score.

Before the x-men or iron man or any other somehow-labeled "super hero" ever cought the tasteless eye of comercial crowds, there was MEGA MAN. Regardless of any $1,000 early vintage issue of collector's magazine about any other hero. No single character in history ever got from nothig to the top with his plain hands and from merelly at first; a non-charging mega buster. And if there was any peer, u know MEGA MAN would defeat him/them too.

Under water, under ground, high up & in space, shooting, jumping, diving, sliding, climbing, falling & ometimes even barelly making it by just a hair grip on a jump to a ramp or threshold, just to dare battle head to head a colossus with proportionate strenght & agility. All for the glory of being the people's hero so that peace could prevail. victorious, with the help of Dr. Light (even in the X series) (ps:those battle network series are lame)his trusty dog RUSH, his eye in the sky BEAT, and ofcurse PROTOMAN (ROLL never really did anything) he would face off tyrants(sigma) and ultimatelly even his former buddies turned nuts; ZERO & that obsessive-psychotic-schytzo BASS.

I tell u what, MEGA MAN is just the hero i personally would like to be if i were given the choice to be any superhero. He's cool, got a lot of heart, kind of a lone wolf sometimes but at the same time he is like the chuck norris of all super heroes.

MEGA MAN, thank you for saving us all from mad scientists & virus insfested robot programs wanting to end us all, and at the same time helping me from going too insane growing up.



PS: My hat goes off to BALLADE (master robot) for sacrificing himself at the end to help MEGAMAN escape the exploding castle in space right on time in MEGAMAN 5. i'll never forget you BALLADE.

Uh oh, it's Dr. Wily again, and he's up to no good! who can stop him? Mega man can! time to load that plasma canon and stop the Dr. Wily, which has brought back 8 robot masters megaman has already crushed in to a metal marmalade in the past! The game is, as usual, awsome in almost every way! You rip and tear through 6 incredible levels, each harder than the last! Once you get through the first 4 masters, you penetrate wily's fortress, and once you survive through the spikes, enemies, and fans, you find yourself battling other 4 robot masters, although you don't get to fight in their levels. Major bummer, dude! But anyway, once you get past that, Dr. Wily escapes to his evil space station! Now, here's the final show down! Overall, the game's short, but still excellentenivo! whatever that means.

Having such large characters on the tiny Game Boy screen makes your mobility limited. This is an issue, as dodging enemy attacks can be trickier than most other games. It'd also be nice if the passwords remembered your progress in the fortress...

This is a great game to play, I purchased it for my son's birthday and he loves it. It would be a great game for anyone to buy and play.
