Movie synopsis
As toplined by Colin Morgan, the BBC period fantasy series MERLIN puts the titular wizard -- a boy of initially mysterious parentage, whose destiny grows inextricably intertwined with that of young Prince Arthur -- center stage. It begins during the tyrant Uther Pendragon's unflinching prohibition of pagan magic, then reveals how Merlin is naturally endowed with exceptional magic powers as an adolescent. Merlin and the obstinate Arthur begin as enemies, but over time forge a strong bond, especially after Gaius, Uther's physician, helps Merlin unlock some of Camelot's many secrets. This release features the entire FIRST SEASON of MERLIN, with all of the episodes presented chronologically, complete, and uncut as they originally aired on the BBC. Extras include audio commentary, "Behind the Magic" making-of featurettes, a photo gallery, video diaries, and wallpaper.

Merlin comes to Camelot, meets the Royal Prat (Prince Arthur), and becomes trapped in a destiny. All the while, he must avoid letting anyone see him use magic or Uther will have him put to death.
I decided to buy this as a birthday gift, but I may just decide to keep it for myself.
Merlin is amusing, intriguing, and puts a whole new spin on the tales of young Arthur, Morgana, Gwen, Lancelot, Gawain, and even Merlin himself! I am glad to have bought this 1st season and may buy the rest later on.

I absolutely LOVE the new spin on an old legend. I am a huge science fiction/fantasy fan and this series is amazing. Merlin has always been viewed as an old man full of wisdom. It is refreshing to see a young Merlin having to deal with the stress of coming of age, being Prince Arthur's servant, and having forbidden magic. You never know what will happen next in this series or how they will mold it to fit the legend. Love!

I LOVE Merlin!

) I bought this product because I am a HUGE Merlin fan and just really enjoyed the series. I love the content, itself, 100%. However, the packaging is very weak and the case was cracked by the time it got to me. Other than the weak dvd case, I loved it. I probably wouldn't buy this product again, because you really don't need more than one. I will purchase the rest of the series though.
A Great Series

I first came across Merlin while flipping through the channels one night and I've been hooked ever since. The show is full of drama, suspense, romance, and fantasy... not to mention, humor. I have introduced a few friends to the show and within one episode they, too, were wrapped up in the plots and attached to the characters. Once you watch it once you can't help but be transported back in time to Camelot right with them.

This second season of Merlin is even better then the first!! I keep me going and I found myself lost in time! I felt as if I was right there along side Merlin as he fights to protect the once and future king! This show is awesome I cant wait for the third season!! ^_^
