This is a story of a hostage negotiator, who gambles, can't seen to maintain a stable relationship with his girlfriend, loves his dog, and can't make his car payments on time. Basically someone you can relate to. He pisses his searget off with his unconventional methods, but gets the job done. Although he was just getting his acting teeth, he does a pretty good job, of dealing with being estranged from his girlfriend, dealing with the murder of his partner as they try to solve the case of the jewel robber and breaking in a new partner.
Murphy is at his best in this kind of film and I feel his career could have benefitted from more movies like this with just enough comedy to showcase his comedic talents but not so much it sinks to stupidity (like Norbit).

) I really liked the movie alot. I really don't care for the lanugage in some of it but, it was a good movie and I love Eddie Murphy.
Would recommend it for a evening of entertaining adults but, would be cautious with kids watching it.

) Great movie! I looked for two years and counldn't find the Metro Eddie Murphy movie in rental movie shops.
After two years I decided to see if I could find it on E-Bay and it was there, used but just as good as new with a crystal clear picture, not with a lot of scratches like the one's from moive shops, thanks!

It had brought back the Eddie Murphy we had known in the "Beverly Hills Cop" films from the acting to that Laugh. I had to see it again and again
