Old Folks 2. Or my Wife found This so Now WE OWN it ALL

    Created: 04/06/07
Samus Found his way into our house thru the Back Door. I went by the Hospital To have a blood work done back in 1987 My Wife Was out in the Parking lot having a Cigarette. This was back then when we still smoked. Sitting on the low wall of a walkway was this Cartridge that said Metroid On it. My Wife and I are both people who enjoy Sci Fi not to the point of dressing up as someone from star trek or Star Wars. Still we must have a hundred Sci-Fi Books around the house. We now have five gaming systems all the way from the NES to the latest and greatest by Nintendo and Microsoft XBOX along with game boy and gamecube. Metroid has been the start of it all. If their is a book on Metroid or a game with Metroid or Samus on it we own it. All because of this first disc. Yes we still play this one not as three Dee as the new version but still one we like to the max. It was the first one and we still can dig it out and run from start to finish with out getting lost or having to look things up in the cheat sheets that all games have. That says a lot as we must have two hundred Cheat sheets on file for our games. We have one whole section of a file cabinet that has nothing but cheat sheets for every game we own. That is the only way I know of to find all the really cool hidden goodies in each of these games. I will always think of Metroid as the very first shootem up game out there so I would have to go buy this one even now if I did not already own it. spins dray

If you are into game sound tracks and own a famicom disk system, this game is a must have. This is the original version of Metroid which features an amazing sound track as well as game saves. No passwords for this version, the game saves right to disk! This is a nintendo classic and simply should not be passed up if found, especially new in box.

A Great Classic, Even Better on the Famicom Disk System

    Created: 21/10/10
Metroid is a classic for the NES but it is even better on the Famicom Disk System. The only things to consider is the extra cost for the Disk System version versus a regular American copy. I think it is and would highly recommend it over the cartridge version because of the save function and enhance music but mainly because of the save function. It works great and means that I no longer have to play it in one sitting, which means that I do not have to free up a lot of time to play it. Its a great game, the enhanced music is excellent, and is a great item to have in your collection.
