Metroid Prime 2: Echoes(Dark Echoes in Japan)
Created: 10/04/08
This game is one of the BEST Metroid games in history. First off, It is ranked my second favorite Metroid game. My favorite is Super Metroid--It can't be beaten. Back to Prime II. It has the coolest graphics, sound(here comes my favorite part), MUSIC. The music rocks. I love it when Nintendo puts music from their previous games into the new ones. The music in some spots serene, in others very intense. The music to the lower part of a place called Torvus Bog(for those who haved played and loved Super Metroid, you'll LOVE this), is the music from Super Metroid called: "Red Soil". Its that place where its all red and calm, where you get the Spazer Beam. Anyway, aside from music, the game has exeptionally good graphics(despite it can be very dark sometimes on your TV). The game is very, very, very long and challenging. Especially when your a pro like me and take on hard mode :). This game also introduces one thing Metroid fans wouldn't think of--Multiplayer mode. It kicks butt. Thats it. Enough said. Multiplayer in this game is FUN. Trust me. Its emmbarrasing when I stay up till 7:00 in the morning playing it with my 20-year-old uncle.
Awesome. Now, to the main theme of the game, Samus, 24-year-old bounty hunter, picks up a distress signal from a Galactic Federation vessel, the GSS Try. You are sent to investigate the planet known as: Aether. This planet was once a very quiet and peaceful home to the Luminoth, a race similar to the Chozo. When you stumble across a temple, you meet with U-Mos, the last and most important sentinal of Aether. He tells you that there planet has been ravaged by war, and a rift had been torn in there peace. It happened when a large meteor struck Aether. It gave birth to the most evil, Disgusting race Samus will EVER meet, the Ing. They are darklings, able to posess the souls of light creatures, turning them evil(including the stupid Space Pirates). U-Mos asks if Samus will help defeat this evil race and restore Aether to its former self.
Only you can make that decision. Get this game. You'll LOVE it. A 5 out of 5. 10 out of 10. The best you can get(aside from Super Metroid). I hope this review helps you. This game rocks. Thats it. I'm done. Bye...Oh, one more thing. If you played and beat Prime I, you'll remember that Metroid Prime itself stole and formed into Samus's Phazon Suit. Prime itself appears in this game as well. Her name is.....Dark Samus. You fight her THREE times and eventually beat her...Until now, Nintendo just made Prime III where Dark Samus returns. Ok. I'll stop. I've spoiled the game enough. Have fun.

A masterpiece. The best Metroid game to date.

The anticipated sequel to Metroid Prime is here... with a bang. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is a first person adventure game where you are the bounty hunter, Samus Aran, the heroine of Nintendo's Metroid series.
Storyline
We join Samus as she's starting her next mission after the events of Metroid Prime. Galactic Federation troops have activated a distress signal on a docile planet called Aether, and Samus's orders are to respond to the call and solve the problem. The Galactic Federation had chased a group of Space Pirates to Aether, when something happened. She arrives in the midst of a thunderstorm that damages her ship, and is barely able to make a safe landing. Leaving her ship while it repairs itself, she discovers what's left of the troopers, and uses their computer logs to determine what happened.
She discovers that Aether, in fact, is far from peaceful. A meteor strike had caused a dimensional disturbance on Aether, splitting the world into two dimensions; one light, and one dark. The habitants of Aether, a race called the Luminoth, are at war with the dwellers of Dark Aether, shapeshifting monsters called the Ing. The space pirates were on Aether because they were searching for Phazon, the deadly substance from Metroid Prime. What's more, a Samus lookalike has appeared, clad in a black and blue powersuit. This "Dark Samus" is also seeking Phazon, though whether she is on the side of either the Ing or the Space Pirates remains to be seen. Unable to leave the planet, Samus has no choice but to get to the bottom of this.
Upon meeting U-Mos, a surviving Luminoth, your goal is laid out for you. Aether and Dark Aether share the same energy and life force, and the Luminoth and Ing are at war for this energy. By this time, most of the planet's energy is in Dark Aether, and the planet is dying. It's time to do something about that.
Objective
Aether and Dark Aether both have energy controllers, found inside temples. Samus' job is to get inside each of the temples of Dark Aether, and transfer the energy she finds there to it's counterpart on Aether. Easier said than done. To get inside of these temples in the first place, you'll need to find a set of "keys" to open the door to the temple, and getting these keys means exploration, solving puzzles, acquiring powerups for your suit, and defeating everything that opposes you. Upon collecting the keys and entering the temple, you'll be forced to fight a powerful temple guardian before access to the energy controller is granted. Enter every temple, defeat every Guardian, and bring back energy to Aether, and it will be saved, and Dark Aether will be destroyed.
Gameplay
The bulk of the game plays exactly the same as Metroid Prime. Same controls and physics. I highly recommend you play and finish the first Metroid Prime before playing this one, because without doing so, you will be confused and the game will be much more challenging than it already is. Even for Metroid Prime veterans, this is a very large, deep, and challenging game.
You'll spend much of the game in combat. Some of the creatures you find aren't aggressive and won't attack you unless provoked, some will attack you on sight. If you run into Space Pirates, they will attack you as soon as they see you. Trust me; they want you dead. Like every other Metroid game, Samus' combat abilities are directly related to her powersuit, which boasts a Power Beam that acts as a gun.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

I this game is excellent another one of my faverit's just as good as the first one this game go's back to 1986 on the NES. Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is a first-person action-adventure game that takes place in an open-ended world with interconnected regions. Gameplay revolves around solving puzzles to uncover secrets, platform jumping, and shooting enemies. Echoes features two parallel dimensions, Light Aether and Dark Aether, where changes in either dimension often reflect changes in the other. Although the maps in both dimensions have the same general layout, rooms often vary in their designs, creatures, and objects. Progress through the game requires both dimensions to be explored, using power-ups that Samus acquires over time. Equipment players collect include the Screw Attack, which allows Samus to somersault in midair and off of certain surfaces, and new beam weapons that have limited ammunition. also features a multiplayer mode that allows up to four players to engage in combat using a split screen. It has six arenas and two modes: Deathmatch, in which players attempt to kill their opponents as many times as possible within a set amount of time; and Bounty, which focuses on collecting coins that injured characters drop. Multiplayer in Echoes features the same control scheme as the single-player mode, including the lock-on system for circle strafing while targeting. And that's why I bought this game I recommend this game.

A rock solid Metroid Game
Created: 03/10/06
This game is the continuation of the Metroid Series, combining the 1st person perspective like a first person shooter with the Metroid Attitude. Samus Aran recieves a distress signal from the planet Aether and goes in to invesitage, only to find her ship damaged from the planets atmosphere and now she is stranded. She shortly finds herselve in the middle of a war between the Moth-like Guardians and the dreaded Ing. Forced into it she then fights the Ing in both the light and dark worlds of Aether. This game is jam packed with new features and upgrades from the first Metroid Prime, and the Screw Attack makes a comeback in this 3-d game, surely to make any fan scream with excitement. This game is also VERY big, over 20 hours can be invested in the game play alone, not to include the time it takes to find power-ups and solving puzzles and decoding Boss techniques. So you can sit back and enjoy days of playing and never get bored. Music can be either intense or somber, either way it offers a way to immerse the player into the game fully, the final battle is the kick to all the music in the game. Those who have never played the first metroid Prime most definitely should to get used to the new control layout as the second Prime will take full advantage of them, and you if your not careful. Both games are worth a 5 out of 5, for both graphics, and gameplay. The story is also more in depth than ever before, so those who buy this game, are sure in for a treat. Good Hunting!

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes

After playing the first Metroid Prime, I was pretty impressed. After just starting the second one, I'm blown away. The attention to detail is incredible, the graphics are more refined, the enemies still challenging. Same basic principle with the Combat, Scan, Thermal, and XRay visors. Some new beam types in accordance to the games story, like the new Light and Dark beams. The sheer size of the game is pretty big, but when you throw in two different planets to explore, Aether becomes even bigger. The differences between Light and Dark Aether are awesome. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes Metroid or just first person shooters in general. Five stars.
