Flight Simulator X is not a game!!!

Created: 09/10/08
I wanted to buy this Flight Simulator a long time ago. Airplanes have been one of my passions since I was a little kid. However, this game was about 60 or 70 dollars when it first came out and I knew I could get it cheaper here on eBay and I did get it last month for 12.00 dollars. I love FSX!!! It really gives you the feeling of flying. By the way, I do recommend though that you buy a joystick to use it. It's really hard with the keyboard and in my opinion is not as enjoyable as it is with a joystick. In fact, it's really hard to use the keyboard. One thing though about this is that if you really want to enjoy the beauty of this game you definitely have to have a dual core processor and a decent graphics card to set FSX at its highest graphics level and not compromise performance. You could play FSX at its lowest graphics and traffic level with the minimum specifications required by the game though. However, to enjoy the beauty of FSX, that is, flying an airplane and seeing more traffic around you, landing at an airport with airplanes landing and taking off, seeing the signs on the runway, listening to ATC and other airplanes communicating, watching ground vehicles and just like in a real life airport it is definitely mandatory a good processor and graphics card. Another thing I loved about this game is that you can download and add your favorite airplane of a real airline!! FSX uses fictitious airlines' names, but add-ons give you the chance of flying your favorite airplanes and airlines!! You could even fly the new Airbus A380!!

I'm still new to FSX and I know there are lots of more things and surprises to discover. I've been doing this by trial and error but sooner or later you are going to have to read some of the material and lessons provided. Oh! I forgot about the missions! Taking the missions is a very good way to start if all you want to do is flying!!!! There are three different levels and they're very fun and helpful and you can try them as many times as you want and every time you succeed, you get a prize!!

Overall I was very impressed with FSX since it really gives you the feeling of flying an airplane. This is not a game!! The title says it all: Flight Simulator really simulates flying!!!

Inexpensive fun for Geezers

Created: 03/12/10
Over half a century ago I used to fly a Piper J3 when I was in the Civil Air Patrol. Life got busy, school was demanding, then I got married and had no time to call my own.

Over the years I have been lucky enough to catch rides in small planes from time to time but I was always too broke to go for my license or be able to rent a plane just for the fun of flying. Then I discovered Flight Simulator X and decided to invest a few bucks in fun for me.

Now I can fly J3's again or Cessna 172's but I still don't like helicopters or sail planes but they are imbedded in the software too along with a variety of other single and twin engine prop planes and a variety of jets from small Lears to the monster transcontinental flying busses.

This software can be flown from the keyboard but my advice is to invest a few more dollars and get a good joystick for real fun then you can sit at your desk wearing your pajamas with a cup of coffee to keep you company and fly anywhere in the world that you want to from 223 countries and thousands of airports.

Anybody of any age will be able to get really involved and have a ton of fun with this software if they like flying.

I think that I'll poke up a Hawaii map and plot myself a corse form Hana to Midway and do a little bit of open water VFR, seat of the pants navigation now.

Its wonderful!

I consider myself to be a person who has a curiosity for almost everything in Life. So of course flying has become one of my dreams/ goals to accomplish. However, at this point in my life I am only able to afford minimal access to actual flying. So I did some research on the better flying games (as realistic to human Life as possible. I'm not into games that are made of sci-fi worlds. In MFS you fly out of real small and large airports all over the world. I fly over my house all the time in the game!) on the market, and I came across Microsoft Flight Simulator X, GOLD, Accelerator, ect. So I looked at the computer requirements and I noticed that my computer only had a 3.3 Microsoft gaming score. So I decided to stick with the Original Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Just to see how it works out. Well I can now say that I love it! And I am going to be looking to get the extension pack (Accelerator)unless they come out with something newer. If you have ever dreamed of flying an actual Boeing 747, single prop plane, or any generic commercial plane (not fighter jets) then this is a must have. Now many of the other reviews are going to say that its not that great because the graphics slow down the game on their computer. But you have to keep in mind that the game was released in 2006, and the computers that were made back then were not intended for this game. The game was probably made for future computers. Because it works great with my Microsoft gaming score of only 3.3 (out of 7). The only complaints that I have about my package, is that I wish there were more planes, and I wish you could custom build your own plane or something of that sort. And the other complaint is that I wish I had a joystick that vibrated much like the controllers with do with Playstation. But thats not the game makers fault, I just need a better joystick. So I'm looking forward to the next series of Microsoft Flight Simulator, because I will buy it, even if I'm a licensed pilot by then.

Flight Sim.

Created: 09/11/08
The Flight Simulator is a great game for many who want to lean to fly but can't afford lessons and others who just either love the game since Flight Sim. 98 or real pilots. One thing I love about the game is the vast sellection of aircraft like the Wright Brother's Flyer. I do however hate that their is a problem that most people have faced with installation including me.

Review of Microsoft Flight Simulator X (PC Games)

Created: 05/09/07
The game was purchased for our 10 year old grandson and he was estatic when it arrived. The game downloaded and played just fine on his laptop computer. Later he brought it over to our home wanting to play it with his grandpa and we couldn't get it downloaded. We received an error saying the game had reached it's limit of being downloaded on different computers. I had to call the support number and argue with them until they gave me a code number to use. I had no idea that when you bought a game there was a limited number of times it could be downloaded onto computers.
Our grandson had been asking for this particular game for some time. The game is wonderful with great graphics and you can fly anywhere in the world! Very Cool!
