Absurd like Steven Wright but nowhere near as laid-back, Mitch Hedberg throws out one bizarre observation after another on Mitch All Together. Hedberg builds on Wright's weird observational slant and has the same obsession with minutia, but while Wright was the man who fell to earth, Hedberg is a thinking man's Jeff Spicoli. His slack-jawed, foul-mouthed, stoner delivery takes some getting used to, but his material is great. The comedian points out that imprinting a chocolate bar with the candy's name robs people of chocolate, Dr. Pepper is better than Mr. Pibb because Pepper has a degree, and that escalators never really break down, they just become stairs. Wickedly riffing on these topics for longer than Wright ever did has given Hedberg a cult following and listening to Mitch All Together you can understand the excitement. Comedy Central makes it easy for the newbies to catch up by including a DVD featuring two of Hedberg's appearances on the network, one unedited. Barely any of the material overlaps and the whole package makes for a great introduction to this talented up-and-comer. ~ David Jeffries

This CD/DVD combo proved to be money very well spent. From the first joke of his I heard, I've always liked Mitch Hedberg. His comedy is very original and full of a lot of great rapid-fire jokes (well, as rapid as Mitch Hedberg can be). His delivery and material combine to create one of the greatest on-stage presences of our time. This is definitely a comic that won't get lost in the shuffle. After hearing comic after comic start a joke out with, "So, my girlfriend and I just broke up..." or "Airline food is crappy...", it's very refreshing to hear "An escalator can never break; it can only become stairs. You would never see an 'Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order' sign, just 'Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience.'"

The DVD is a compilation of Comedy Central appearances so it doesn't have the language...still okay but I like the CD better!

Nothing compares to the comedy of Mitch

This man was one of a kind. His combination of slowed speach with quick wit throws off the most hardened comic lovers, but if your mind can shift gears quickly in a stop and go rythm you will absolutly love this compilation of Mitch's funnest work. DVD is clips from Comedy Central and is partially edited, however the CD that is included is not censored and is completly different material than whats on the DVD. Excellent purchase!

The CD is great for listening in the car, but, the DVD was very dissapointing. It appears Mitch was either stoned or drunk and I was not pleased with his performance. I really like his style of humor and was anticipating a much more funny of a show on the DVD. Unfortunately, his life style must have let to his much too early death.

Great all around performance. If you like one liners, and witty comments, by all means, buy this CD or DVD. This dude is something else.
