Movie synopsis
The critically acclaimed, Emmy and Golden Globe winning MONK finally gave talented character actor Tony Shalhoub his perfect role. Adrian Monk (Shalhoub) is San Francisco's most brilliant detective, but is unable to serve on the police force because of his crippling neuroses and obsessive-compulsive disorder. However, he continues his investigations independently, often solving cases before the actual police are able to do so, and always seeking out clues to the unsolved murder of his wife. The combination of comedy, mystery, and a distinctively eccentric character have lead many to dub MONK the successor to COLUMBO. MONK: SEASON THREE collects all 16 episodes of the show's third year. It includes the final episodes featuring Monk's assistant Sharona (Bitty Schram), a popular character who was replaced over contract demands, much to the consternation of the program's fans.

) Monk is one of my favorite TV shows. Though Season Three is the season in which Sharona leaves the show, the character of the show is not lost. I enjoyed most of the episodes in this season. I must have every season, as long as the character of the show remains.

Maybe I'm not the best guy to write an impartial review of season 3 of ANY season of Monk because by and large, I find the program extremely imaginative, outstanding writing, something other than the stupid sophomoric sex joke laden stuff on TV today, or the kiddy-driven "reality" nonsense which is soo cheap to produce. Very few shows on this planet would I spend money purchasing. But Monk is one. And the third season is of particular interest since Sharona, Monk's nurse and sidekick, leaves the series because of contract and money disputes, and the search for the new girl is on!
Like great stories? Interesting characters? An hour worth spending on a show? Get Monk. HOWEVER...caution should be noted. I IS highly addicting!

Great Family Series

I bought this series because I've been enjoying watching the Monk series on tv; but, knew I had not seen some of the earlier episodes. I LOVED watching these episodes when I wanted at the pace that I wanted. My whole family got into watching this series. Good mystery story with some fun humor! I would definately recommend for something a family can watch together. There is often blood at the beginning of each episode. Maybe not appropriate for really young children; but, my nine year old loves to watch these (and they don't bother her) I'm moving on to season 4; and I can't wait to get it!

If you like funny, witty shows Monk is for you. Back in the second third season you get great episodes such as Monk and the Kid, Monk Goes to Vegas, and Monk in Manhattan. If you haven't watched any of the series before it's fine because each show focuses on a different crime. Highly entertaining.

Monk is sooooo funny. I really love all the characters in the show, esp.Monk and Sharona. My husband likes the police detectives. We sit and watch them together and laugh. It is a good bonding time and stress reliever. This dvd has Sharona and then she leaves and the new girl starts as Monk's helper, so you get to see shows with both girls. Buy it--you won't regret it!!!
