    Peace and love, joy and strength of character is what I found embedded in the tunes of the Monkees (and Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart). I was very impressed and pleased with my recent purchase of the Monkees songbook, The Monkees Greatest Hits. Its pages and pages of beautifully printed music are well secured in an excellent binding that allows the songbook to open and stay open on a favorite song.
    I've always found the music of the Monkees challenging, to say the least. The Monkees Geatest Hits songbook embellishes the music by including some musical turn arounds and illustrated guitar chords, not just page saving simplifications of "pop" tunes neatly summerized. It's a very useful book for musicians to develop their own versions of these vintage tunes.
    These four guys were the stars of my very first rock and roll concert. They are truely talented actors and musicians. I'm glad that I own this songbook.
