What a treat. The Monsters and the energetic little toddler, Boo, are not just cute, they're great personalities too - and so well animated. The film's entertaining from start to finish and a couple of the extras are as good as the film, in their own short way. Some of the good things on this DVD:
A wonderful story. The world of the monsters runs on the power of screams that the monsters have to generate by scaring human children. They have a whole industry dedicated to extracting these blood-curdling shrieks from the poor, terrified little kids. Each child is matched with its ideal monster and their monster passes from the power factory in Monstropolis through one of thousands of bedroom closet doors - one for each child - into the child's bedroom where it carries out its job and the resulting scream is captured in a flask. The monsters have to be very careful though because they believe that children are highly toxic and can kill them with a touch. The monsters are actually tremendously alarmed at the prospect of contact with a human child. If only the children knew ....
Excellent characters. The main ones are outstanding. The little girl, Boo is too cute to mention. Sulley (big, woolly, top scoring scarer) and Mike (small, walking eyeball and Sulley's best friend and assistant) have all the usual concerns of the average working man and they're also funny. Mike has a girl friend (she may be my favourite). She has one eye and snakes for hair. When she gets romantic with Mike, her snakes get all romantic with him too. When she gets angry with Mike, they all rattle their tails and glare and hiss. Those animators must have been inspired. What a clever idea. Randle, Boo's special monster - the one that really scares her - moves like a centipede. He's a real villain with a wicked plot go maximise scream power.
Brilliant extras. In particular two short animated films: "For the Birds" and "Mike's New Car". I've watched them more times than I've watched the main film. Both are very funny. I've found that I can't even think about "For the Birds" without starting to laugh. There's one scene in the film where several of the small, quarrelsome birds are taking the Mickey out of the big, friendly bird - pulling faces and bristling their feathers. You'll need to see it to believe how funny this is.
I recommend this DVD. It'll be played over and over again.

I will always hold a special place in my heart for this movie - the first full length movie my toddler watched...and watched and watched!
It is funny, creative and and has dual levels of comedy so it appeals to both the kids and parents alike!
From the Disney Pixar studio's ..this movie has incredible animation, humor, fun, an imaginative plot and tugs at your heartstrings at the same time as we explore the cute but secretive friendship between Sulley and Boo!
Your children will love it but there are so many scenes that will have the parents rolling around with laughter too!
The DVD version also includes a hilarious 'out take' section at the ending credits which mimics many a hollywood movie!
I do not think our family will ever ger tired of this movie which is sure to become a Disney Classic!

Ok people!!!!!
If you just get this for the behind the scenes footage of Billy and John recording The Monster song..."I Wouldn't Have Nothin if I Didn't Have You...," with legendary Randy Newman leading them, it'd seem enough! However, you get the Special Edition movie too.
You get Sully, Mike, Randall, Boo, and the whole lot. These Monsters are soooooo terrific, you'll want one to come home with you. I know I did! Went to California Adventure afterwards and got me some stuffed monsters asap and rode their great ride:)
Please buy this movie folks and watch if you have not already:) Really..What more can a girl say!

Fuzzy And Funny

The stars of this movie are Sulley and Mike Wazowski, two monsters whose jobs are to collect screams from children to produce power in their city. The movie portrays many of the monsters as friendly and really more scared of children then children are of them. Therefore, when Boo, a young girl from the human world, gets into their world, it causes total chaos, while Sulley and Mike fall in love with her.
The animation in this movie is wonderful and the character development is great! The plot is interesting and strays away from the common beliefs about monsters, and it may even give kids relief from the typical fear of monsters.
Monsters Inc. is cute and playful! It is a perfect movie for the kids or family, and it can be watched over and over again enjoyably! Don't miss out on buying this movie!

This movie is not for just kids only! This is a great funny movie. John Goodman and Billy Crystal has met their match and they won! Laughing throughout and when the monster world adopts a child from the "other side" it turns into the most funniest thing you would have ever see. Animation is awesome and Pixar has won again. Even the pre-movie is good!! My family has almost warn out the DVD. We notice new things every time we watch it! It is great!
A must monster have for that family collection!!!
