UNLOCKED MOTOROLA SLVR C261 COLOR CAMERA PHONE

Motorola SLVR C261
Design
The classic style of Motorola design in areas of shape, colour and design, weighing in at 91 g and measuring 49 x 109 x 14 mm, the SLVR C261 is petite and relatively lightweight. A perfectly adequate 65,000-color display is bright and crisp, and is a far step above the dim 4096-color versions on even the most recent Motorola models. The display resolution 128 x 160 pixel ideal for small and smart phone.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker, while on the other side we find a dedicated camera button. There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Motorola handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.
Ergonomics
The C261 is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide. While the big display a numerical keypad placed on a small space offers appropriately-spaced keys and are not pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Motorola handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial. Its keypad is as pleasing in use as its chassis is on the eyes: tactile feedback is excellent and all buttons are placed in a logical manner - quite a feat, considering C261's knack for quirky keypads. And last, but not least, a five-way navigation buttons centered below the display.
Features
Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Motorola SLVR C261 has to offer: there's also support for GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as Java MIDP 2.0, 32-channels polyphony, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book.
As previously mentioned, the SLVR C261 is also equipped with a 0.3 megapixel camera support for picture-taking .
Performance
Audio quality on the SLVR C261 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 820 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 7 30 hours talk time or 250 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 122 minutes.
Availability
The Motorola SLVR C261 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Motorola SLVR C261 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Motorola design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws.

ONE OF TRACFONES BEST TO DATE! THIS CAMERA IS NOT TO BE UNDERESTIMATED. IT TAKES GREAT PICTURES,HAS UP TO 4X ZOOM,AND YOU CAN EMAIL OR TEXT THEM TO ANYONE WITH A CELLPHONE. THE NEW WEB ACCESS FEATURE IS SOMETHING SO NEW...IT IS NOT EVEN LISTED ON TRACFONES WEBSITE. I BOUGHT THIS PHONE AND WAS CHECKING OUT ALL THE OPTIONS WHEN I TRIED THE WEB ACCESS. I WAS SURFING THE NET CHECKED MY AOL MAIL AND THEN CHECKED MAPQUEST FOR DIRECTIONS. IT COMES IN VERY USEFUL!
THERE ARE NEW FEATURES LIKE OFFICE TOOLS,A COUPLE GAMES,YOU CAN NOW DOWNLOAD RINGTONES,WALL PAPER,GRAPHICS,AND MORE.
AS ALWAYS YOU GET FREE VOICEMAIL THAT YOU CAN ACCESS FROM A HOME TELEPHONE OR PAYPHONE OR YOUR CELL. EVEN IF YOUR OUT OF UNITS THE PHONE IS STILL ACTIVE UNTIL THE DATE SHOWN IN THE PREPAID MENU. YOU GENERALY HAVE ABOUT 4 MONTHS ACTIVATION WITH A CARD OR REFERRAL. TRACFONE ALSO USES ALL OF THE SAME CELL TOWERS AS VERIZON,CINGULAR,T-MOBIL,AND THE REST. SO, YOU ARE NOT STUCK IN ONE AREA YOU CAN USE THEM ALL. I OFTEN FIND I HAVE A BETTER SIGNAL THAN MOST PLAN PHONES. WHEN YOU WORK IN THE MOUNTAINS OR DOWN SOUTH YOU DONT PAY FOR ROAMING EITHER. ONE RATE-MEANS YOU PAY 1 UNIT PER MINUTE LOCAL OR LONG DISTANCE...EVEN TO CANADA. THIS PHONE ALSO HAS A GREAT HANDS FREE FEATURE WITH THE SPEAKER PHONE. THE FIRST OF TRACFONES TO OFFER THIS. HUGE IMPROVEMENT. RETAILS AT THE STORES FOR AROUND $80.00 + TAX. IF YOUR IN COLLEGE,WANT A SAFETY CAR PHONE FOR EMERGENCIES,KIDS,LOVED ONES,ETC... NO HIDDEN DAILY FEES LIKE MOST PREPAIDS. Not recommended for T-Mobile customers
Created: 11/12/06
This phone functions great if your service carrier is Cingular, which is why I regret buying it because this particular model is not supported by T-Mobile which just happens to be my current service carrier. The basic functions of the phone work okay but I'm unable to use or access any T-Mobile services like T-Zones or T-MobileWeb Internet services, which unfortunately means that I'm unable to download ANYTHING such as games or ringtones, also for some reason the phone's main screen displays CINGULAR as my service carrier, all of this despite the fact that the phone is using my T-Mobile SIM card. I purchased this cell phone because the seller claimed that it would function correctly and that it would also be supported by T-Mobile, which turned out to be untrue. If I would have known that this phone was not going to function or be unable to access any of T-Mobile's services, I wouldn't have bought it.

C261...ok but not worth much $$
Created: 10/12/07
Well, I originally purchased this because I was told that I could get online and check my e-mails and get maps, etc. I have now found that the only place I can go online on it is to the Net10 site and that is it, I could care less about the Net10 site. The camera is so-so, the pics are ok but with it not having a flash you are lucky to get any pics to come out unless you are outside in full sun.
The good on it is that I get great reception, it is nice and thin and it has a big screen. I would never buy one for the price that Net10/Tracfone askes for it as I do not feel it is worth their price, however, for the price on e-bay it is worth it since it comes with the minutes.
Personally I would not ever recommend this phone to anyone as it can not do anything more than just a regular basic phone.

NET10 MOTOROLA C261

Best value, this phone when combined with Net10 service works where others won't. From Florida to Alaska, including Canada, this one worked while none of the plan phones did. Never leave home with out it. The big providers have good customer service, but if you don't have a signal, what's the point? The kicker is, if you shop for air time, it's the least expensive way to go.
