Motorola SURFboard SB6121 (575319019) 163.84 Mbps Modem

Bought this modem to upgrade an older model. After connection it took at least 10 minutes for the attached computer to get an ip address and pull up the Comcast device activation page. After typing in account information I proceeded through the activation sequence without a hitch. I logged into the modem and pulled up the signal statistics page. 4 downstream channels bonded (max 152Mbs) and 2 upstream channels bonded (max 54Mbs). I downloaded a large file and confirmed no new errors accumulated. Speed test results were: 25.1 Mbs download and 4.23 Mbps upload at Comcast service tier for $46.95 per month.

I purchased the Motorola SURFboard SB6121 because I was tired "renting" the one from comcast. Excellent product; fast download & upload, which is typical of Motorola SURFboard modems - the newer the SURFboard, the faster the speeds. To get the faster speeds, you will have to have a fast connection which can vary with different providers. Also a plus, easy setup; just a few minutes and then a call to comcast and in about 10-15 minutes, everything was up & running faster, smoother and much better with the bonus of saving the rental fee on my internet bill so the modem soon pays for itself. Very happy with this product.

I had a Motorola DOCIS 1.0 modem and was told by Comcast that I need to upgrade to 3.0 because of changes in their network. I was very concerned that I would loose performance so I selected the newer version SURFboard. After using the product for over one month I am very pleased with the performance and quaility. Installation was very simple and easy to use. Unit was up and running in ten minutes (time was due to Comcast approval delays). Great product and even better price. Much better than buying from Comcast direct.

I dumped CLEAR for internet because MagicJack wouldn't work well with that slow a connection and maybe too small a band width. When I decided to go to Comcast I didn't want the monthly rental so bought the Motorola SURFboard SB6121. I'm getting over 20 Mbps and the best part is I haven't had to look at the modem since it was installed. I'm totally satisfied and would recommend it. MagicJack works well now and also Netflix.

Great modem built extremely well and lasts...I had used Action Tec modems for DSL and they seem to go in two or three years and the Motorola seem to last and last, I have two other Motorola's SB5101 which I bought used two years ago and it is still going strong, but I want a Docis 3 modem, which I got at a very good price.
