Movie synopsis
MOVING: A transit engineer whose job change means he must move his reluctant family from New Jersey to Idaho finds complications aplenty arise from his wacko neighbors, unorthodox furniture movers, and unscrupulous employer.GREASED LIGHTNING: Michael Schultz directs this charming bio-drama about America's first black stock car racing champion. Richard Pryor plays Wendell Scott, a wide-eyed young man who has always loved the thrill of speed. After marrying the gorgeous Mary (Pam Grier), Wendell begins to sell bootleg moonshine with his partner Pee Wee (Cleavon Little). But when Sheriff Cotton (Vincent Gardinia) finally tracks him down, a business proposition keeps him out of the slammer. Impressed with Wendell's accomplished driving skills, the sheriff asks him to try his hand at the racetrack, which will hopefully bring in the Black community as spectators. Both plans work. Soon, Wendell has committed to becoming a racing champion, and with the help of Pee Wee and the free-spirited Hutch (Beau Bridges), he becomes just that.

) Moving is a very funny movie that the entire family can watch. Starring Richard Pryor, it is not what you expect from him( I did state the entire family can watch). Randy Quaid is very funny as the wacko neighbor. This movie will keep you laughing as you watch Pryor navigate all the obsticles and pitfalls of relocating from New Jersey to Idaho. One of the things I liked best about this movie was that there was very little cussing. In fact, Pryor's character acts like he hates cursing and swearing. But watch his wife and daughter fill the swear jar. In the tradition of Siskel and Ebert, I give this movie two thumbs up.

Before you reach you destination you have problems. You reach your destination and new problems arise before you can walk throught your new front door?

Two of Pryor's Best

) This pairing is well done. The transition from VHS for "Greased Lightning" is well executed. Wendell Scott will be fondly remembered for his place in NASCAR history as a result of Pryor's performance. The other characters portray real people who also had an influence in an era of change. Moving tells a typical story for the time. The two films are easily viewed for their content.
