good fun all around

brendan fraser does it again he is always at his best when cast in a light hearted role. his comedic timing is spot on without taking away from the darker side of the story. the mummy and the mummy returns story lines flow easily together. while the scorpion king tie in was good i was slightly disappointed by the effects. measured by todays standard they seemed a little b movie. the scorpion king movie was able to completly stand on its own while giving body to the mummy. over all universal smacks another out of the ball park. a hit with anyone who enjoys a good family comedic action movie.

Excellently done triolgy of a very old movie
Created: 05/05/07
Brandon Fraser stars in the first two movies, where a 3000 year old mummy comes back to life and is out to destroy the world. The first and second movies could have been either the funniest or scariest movies made, but for whatever reason, it was made blending both factors together. Definetely enjoyable nonetheless. The third movie is a spin off from number two, where you see how The Rock became the nemesis "The Scorpion King" from his early days. Very good special effects throughout all three movies. Highly recommended to Sci-Fi fans and Horror fans alike.

The Mummy collection
Created: 27/08/10
I purchased the trilogy of the Mummy collection that has The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, and The Scorpion King. The original movie is of course the best of the three and has action from the beginning to the end. I really like watching this one the most. The second movie is good till you get to the point of the introduction of the scorpion king which is a digital image of the The Rock and really looks like it was done digitally. The third movie was the worst of the three and if it really didn't come in the collection not really sure I would buy it unless you just want to have all three of the Mummy movies.

Yes We Love It!

We had originally planned on buying all three movies seperately but csame across this great set for only $10 so here we are...These films remind me of the Indiana Jones series..filled with advanture, comedy, drama and yes romance! You will be on the edge of your seat as the Mummy first makes himself known..in the second Film you learn more about the mummys' past..and the third installment really brings it all together..a great film for the entire famly..Kids will be awed by the special affects and Parents will be grateful to finally have a set of films they can share with their children!! Be aware though these films do have some intense, gory/scary moments..

The Mummy Collector's Set Worth It
Created: 21/03/10
As we all know, the movies are great but I bought this set for the special features. There are several behind the scenes documentaries, historical/mythological facts (must read those on the screen - not narrated), even music videos, how the sets were designed (those documentaries come in 2-3 minute short clips - wish there was a 'play all' button), special messages about some organizations the stars are sponsoring, DVD-rom extras (haven't checked those yet though) and more!
I've heard the Deluxe Editions of these Collected Edition movies were better with most of the same features plus more but those are much more expensive.
Still, this was worth the price ($4.00), though I would've paid more for it.
