I'm hooked. Owner's mode: Pick your own pro franchise, build your own park, buy your own concessions, set your pricing on everything from tickets to hot dogs. Try to save enough money to expand and bring in more fans. Your franchise is for 30 years and you can play every game pitch by pitch or you can simulate a game in about 60 seconds. You are also responsible for your AAA, AA,and A clubs. I just finished the first season and spent the off season (took me five hours) re-singing contracts and making trades and picking up free agents. Of course, you can just push a button and have it all done automatically if that's your preference. Favorite: Actual players and stats for each team; add yourself to your team with create a player (the announcer actually uses your name!); very authentic movements of the players: Dislike: repetitive statements by announcers. You can just turn that off. I'm in second season spring training now and hope I can make some money to expand the park and increase revenue this year.

Best baseball video game I've ever played

    Created: 04/05/09
Yes, I'm aware that the newer ones on PS3 and Xbox 360 have a much closer feel and better fidelity than this game or any game made for the original Xbox console. I was crushed when I found out this game wasn't compatible on the Xbox 360 and I have an Xbox console just so I can play this games and Madden 2007 (the 360 version of 2007 was terrible). There is a reason why every sports game loses its value by the time the next year's edition has come out but you'll see that this game still sells because users love the hitter's eye (my favorite feature), the realistic timing for the hitter, and who doesn't love hitting the tractors and getting 1000 points in the hitting challenge game?!?!?

If you don't have this game and you are on a budget but looking to play some baseball, this is the game to get!

Good game, wish they came out with an '06

    Created: 11/02/06
MVP Baseball 2006 is is an all-around great game. It has all the makings of a good baseball game but has the behind the scenes options where you can become the owner of a baseball team. But the best part is is that the owner part isn't extremely confusing and overwhelming like in other sports games. If it's too overwhellming it takes away from the game. I wish they came out with an '06, but I'm glad they're still making downloadable roster updates if you have XBOX Live. It keeps an old game alive and if you still haveit you dont need to buy a new one this year and waste $49.99. If you don't have the game you can get it on eBay or Half.com for really cheap. I think that MVP Baseball is overall a very good baseball game, probally the best on the market compared to ESPN's terrible games.

great classic game. i used to play this game all the time, so much that mine ended up not working any longer on my xbox. I'm glad to have bought it again and i'm trying to get used to the controls again. now that i am older i understand better strategies on creating a ballpark and it is almost like a mini tycoon game. Great package, baseball and business. what can possible be a better game?

    MVP Baseball 2005

See my comments on the MVP NCAA Baseball and you can pretty much duplicate those here with the exception, everything is easier at the Major League level. Your hitters and Pitchers are more talented. It's a little easier to play than the NCAA game. You do have to learn to hit and pitch and it's still an investment in learning, but you can get up to speed a little quicker. A good baseball game, not quite as entertaining to me as Slugfest games, tho'.
