Not worth $60 (what it is in stores)

I wanted this game for quite awhile and was waiting for a good price ($30-40) on ebay for a new sealed game. I read reviews online and they said it definately is not worth $60, and I completely agree. Now dont get me wrong it is fun to play because I love to race. You can jump and do stunts on your ATV or MX bike and earn points, compete w/up to 6 other computer players. You can play in tournaments. The graphics are good, vehicles are realistic for a video game.

One of the things I dont like about the game is if you are playing w/someone else they split the screen side by side and if you dont have a big TV (mine is 37") it can be difficult to see where to turn next to avoid running into things. It should be split top/bottom like most other games are. I enjoy playing just one player instead of two for that reason.

But all and all the game is fun, it's just not worth $60 but what game is, right? So if you can find a good price, go for it!

    Great Game

I bought the game for my son, everytime we would go to barber shop for a hair cut he would load this game to play so fir his birthday I went ahead and got it. What I like about it is that it is very easy to play and my 5 year old is really good at it. I also like it because it is not full of violence. It is awesome to do all those tricks that we see on T.V. My dislikes are that my son tries to copy some of the tricks jumping a ramp (but thats what kids do!) so I really can't complain...It is a real good game. Would recommend to everyone.

    MX vs ATV Untamed

    Created: 20/04/08
First off I'm a die hard motocross fan and race almost every weekend.

Now for my review of MX vs ATV Untamed:

First, they went out and bought the likeness of the pro riders, but failed to purchase licenses for the actual brands of bikes. They look like the top 5, but they have their own special names. The sounds are good. Physics are a little tougher, sometimes you can come up short on jumps, ride them out, or you wipe out. Other times you land your jump, and you still wipe out.

Online gaming is alright, other than you can't pick your gate.

The next game needs to focus on MX only. This could be the best motosports game ever made, but there is too much effort spent on monster trucks, trophy trucks, Quads, and all the other little extras they put in. It would be nice to see an RPG come out, you start as an amature and work your way into the pro ranks, through Lake Whitney, Loretta Lynns and other big races.

All in all the best feature of this game is the scrub. Give us a patch that makes it a little easier to use! This is about a 7.5 out of 10 for me.

    One of the best games!!

    Created: 23/04/11
As with previous versions of the MX vs. ATV series, Untamed tosses in a mess of rip-snorting off-road vehicles your way: everything from your standard MX bikes and ATV quad racers, to dune buggies, monster trucks, and even pocket bikes. The different vehicles have their handling quirks--for example, MX bikes are more nimble but less stable than ATVs --but all of the vehicles are governed by Untamed's fast-and-loose take on physics. The result are vehicles that are able to make epic jumps, turn and twist in midair, and, if you're careful, land with four wheels on the ground and minimal damage to vehicle or rider.

However, landing those jumps can be a dicey prospect. When tackling the largest jumps in the game, you never really know for sure when or if your rider is going to be eating a mouthful of dirt after a nasty-looking crash. Of course, part of this is a result of the game's rhythm-racing concept, in which the player is required to preload jumps by pulling back on the left analog stick and pushing forward at the lip of the jump to add extra height and distance to the jump. Learning when and where you need to preload is one of the skills required for making your way through the game. Unfortunately, Untamed is inconsistent in its approach here. Often what seems to be a perfect approach for a landing will result in a painful-looking and time-wasting spill.
