MySims Kingdom (Nintendo DS, 2008)

This game is likely to appeal to those who like "Animal Crossing: Wild World". I would recommend this title to parents who don't want their children to play violent games, although I like to play it myself also. The fact that you can fully customize your character at will would be especially appealing to girls, but the mini games, which are played with the stylus and include tennis, kayaking, fishing, and ski jumping, would be entertaining to boys as well. Other mini games include a memory game in which balloons are distributed to customers, a game in which you "shoot" ghosts by touching them with the stylus, and a game in which you sell vegetables.

The story line is that someone has stolen the town's houses, trees, decorations, etc and it is your job to restore the town to its former glory and to track down and stop the villains responsible.

In your quest to restore the town, you must: collect "essences", which you use to create new objects such as flowers, fountains, houses, etc. to place in your town; earn money by playing mini games so that you can buy furnishings and clothing for your character; and perform tasks for the townspeople to restore happiness, peace and order.

I actually prefer this game to "Animal Crossing: Wild World" because time in the game passes independently of real time, so you are not tied to playing at certain times of day or on certain days of the week to trigger the events you want. You can switch between morning, afternoon, evening, and night at will.

All in all, a fun game with plenty of variety.

what i like about this game is that you can play minigames which some are fun but some are not. i got this for a christmas gift for my other niece. its good for kids 6-12. some mini games are hard like tennis and kayak and finding the stars. other are easy like balloon and card game are fun. they girls and i played this one. it got here on time for my to try out the game.

This game is a little challenging for my 5 year old, but it's just enough to keep him interested in it:) The game play is great. My son really enjoys the story line.

Got a DS for Christmas while the wife got an I-Pod Touch! Think I got the short end of that stick. So, I have been looking for games entertaining enough for me. This one has been fun. My nine year old has since stolen it from me. So I get to play it when she is not. Fun game and I will keep looking for more.
